Qualcomm SD 678

Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 (SD678) to średniej klasy SoC oparty na architekturze ARM, który można znaleźć głównie w tabletach i smartfonach Android. Posiada on 8 rdzeni Kryo 460 (obsługujących 64-bity), które są podzielone na dwa klastry. Szybki klaster dwóch rdzeni o taktowaniu do 2,2 GHz, oparty na architekturze ARM Cortex-A76. I energooszczędny klaster o taktowaniu do 1,7 GHz, oparty na znacznie mniejszych rdzeniach ARM Cortex-A55. Oba klastry mogą być również używane razem. W porównaniu do starego Snapdragona 675prędkość taktowania rdzeni została zwiększona o 200 MHz dla A76 i 100 MHz dla rdzeni A55.

Oprócz 8 rdzeni CPU, SoC integruje niższy układ średniej klasy GPU Adreno 612, modem X12 LTE z pobieraniem do 600 Mb/s (Cat 12) i wysyłaniem 150 Mb/s (Cat 13), modem WLAN 802.11ac (Wifi 5) Wave 2 (do 867 Mb/s), radio Bluetooth 5.0, pozycjonowanie satelitarne (GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, SBAS, Beidou i Galileo) oraz silnik wideo (kodowanie do 4k30 i obsługa H.265, H.264, VP8 i VP9).

Wydajność

W porównaniu do starego Snapdragon 675678 jest tylko nieznacznie szybszy w naszych testach porównawczych. Dzięki dwóm szybkim rdzeniom opartym na Cortex-A76, SD678 jest w stanie nawet pokonać starego wysokiej klasy SoC Snapdragon 835 w niektórych testach porównawczych.

Snapdragon 678 jest produkowany w tym samym 11nm procesie technologicznym LPP (Low Power Plus) Samsunga co 675, który jest połączeniem 14nm i 10nm. W porównaniu do 14nm LPP, 11nm proces LPP powinien być w stanie zwiększyć wydajność o 15% i zmniejszyć rozmiar chipu o 10% według Samsunga.
