Jeżeli dotarłeś do podsumowania mojej recenzji Xiaomi 17, to raczej niczym Cię tu nie zaskoczę. Dla mnie to nadal najlepszy mały telefon na rynku i nie zapraszam tu do żadnej dyskusji. Z vivo X300 wygrywa ceną na poziomie 4199 złotych oraz większą baterią. Z Samsungiem Galaxy S26 wygrywa… wszystkim? iPhone 17 Pro broni się tylko wyłącznie ekosystemem Apple. Reszta to margines i nie mam wyjścia – muszę przyznać mu jakieś wyróżnienie. W ramach małego podsumowania zalet mamy tu genialną baterię, bardzo wygodną na co dzień obudowę, dobrą kulturę pracy, świetny aparat (również po zmroku, choć poza szerokim kątem), najlepsze na rynku wibracje i czytnik linii papilarnych. Wśród wad mogę wymienić tylko grzanie podczas hardkorowego grania oraz bloatware. Xiaomi odwaliło kawał dobrej roboty i trzeba to po prostu docenić. Na koniec bez wahania przyznaję Xiaomi 17 nagrodę wybór redaKcji gsmManiaKa. Moim zdaniem to najlepszy mały telefon na rynku. iPhone 17 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S26 i reszta po prostu nie mają do niego podejścia.

First up, you've got that beefy Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in charge. Gamers can play intensive titles like Wuthering Waves on the Xiaomi 17, same as the Samsung S26. However, this smartphone does get quite toasty, to worrying degrees. That Leica camera setup is a banger as always, with fresh hardware for this 2026 model (unlike the Galaxy S26). You can capture great-looking night shots and portraits, with a decent telephoto shooter attached. The Xiaomi 17 is also decent for recording video, if you want a mini vlogging device.

However, the value depends on understanding what you expect from a smartphone. If you are looking for a compact flagship that is comfortable to use one-handed, offers around two days of battery life, performs well in most photography scenarios, and features one of the better displays in its class, the Xiaomi 17 presents a strong option. How significant these issues are will depend on the user. And as we know, this is what most people buying an iPhone, a Pixel, or a Galaxy from a US carrier benefit from. So the playing field is uneven from the get-go. Recenzję zeszłorocznego Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Kasia zatytułowała słowami Wypas – po prostu. W przypadku jego następcy mógłbym użyć w zasadzie dokładnie takiego samego określenia, bo – naprawdę – jest on wypasionym, po zęby doposażonym smartfonem. Xiaomi 17 Ultra oferuje w zasadzie wszystko, czego można by oczekiwać. Aparat opiera się o mocne matryce i robi doskonałej jakości zdjęcia, wydajność stoi na kapitalnym poziomie, ekran jest świetny, a głośniki soczyście brzmiące i jedne z najlepszych na rynku. Interfejs systemu jest miły dla oka, funkcjonalny i nie brakuje do kompletu funkcji AI działających po polsku. Wciąż jednak pojawiają się problemy z docieraniem powiadomień z niektórych aplikacji, choć może już nie aż tak nagminne, jak niegdyś.

Trzeba to powiedzieć otwarcie: Xiaomi 17 Ultra jest drogim smartfonem. Cena na poziomie 6499 złotych za wariant 16/512 czyni go droższym od iPhone 17 Pro Max (6299 zł), co mimo wszystko jest przekroczeniem pewnej psychologicznej granicy. Droższe są już przede wszystkim składane smartfony. Tak, cenę w ramach oferty premierowej można sobie osłodzić dodawaną za złotówkę hulajnogą Xiaomi Scooter 5 Max lub tabletem Xiaomi Pad 8 8/128, których Apple przecież nie dodaje, ale… cóż, z taką świadomością wielu konsumentów wolałoby nie dostać „gratisu” i zapłacić mniej. Poza aspektem cenowym w stronę Xiaomi 17 Ultra trudno jest sformułować jakikolwiek naprawdę poważny zarzut. To pod każdym względem poprawiony model Xiaomi 15 Ultra i sprzęt, który wszystko robi dobrze. Ma większy ekran we w zasadzie identycznej bryle, znacznie dłuższy czas pracy na baterii (ekran o niższej rozdzielczości nie jest tu bez znaczenia) i jeszcze lepsze aparaty. Ekran OLED jest piękny, ma adaptacyjne odświeżanie, a głośniki grają jak przystało na flagowca. I to właśnie w zaletach Xiaomi 17 Ultra można dopatrywać się jego wysokiej ceny.

Zabierając się za testy Xiaomi 17 Ultra, spodziewałem się solidnego smartfona z dobrymi aparatami. Mimo to sprzęt zaskoczył. Jest to prawdopodobnie najlepszy smartfon fotograficzny, jaki kiedykolwiek testowałem. Poza tym jest to bardzo solidna konstrukcja o flagowych możliwościach. Ekran, wydajność, a nawet czas działania są tutaj w punkt. Konstrukcja ma pewne niedociągnięcia jak typowo chiński system z wieloma aplikacjami, smartfon pod obciążeniem się nagrzewa, a akumulator odstaje od wariantu na rynek macierzysty. Są to jednak drobnostki, a Xiaomi 17 Ultra to flagowiec kompletny.

Premierowy test Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Czy to najlepszy telefon do zdjęć na świecie?

Xiaomi 17 Ultra to najlepszy flagowiec w historii producenta – tak napisałem już na początku i tak zamknę tę recenzję. Jest telefonem bardziej dojrzałym i lepszym od Xiaomi 15 Ultra, a kosztuje podobne pieniądze. Poprawiono tu w zasadzie wszystko, a jedynym sensownym konkurentem w Polsce jest Oppo Find X9 Pro. Ten ma poważną przewagę – jest tańszy, bo kosztuje 5499 złotych, czyli o tysiaka mniej od Xiaomi. Tak naprawdę zgadza się tutaj wszystko. Mamy znacznie większą baterię niż przed rokiem – a co ważniejsze, realnie przekłada się to na czas pracy. Wyświetlacz jest jeszcze lepszy, wydajność skoczyła, HyperOS 3 to rozwiązanie większości problemów Xiaomi, a teleobiektyw mocno zyskał na wartości. To po prostu bardzo dobrze poprawiony poprzednik, a przecież to jest najważniejsze. Na koniec przypomnę, że zakup Xiaomi 17 Ultra można dość solidnie zamortyzować promocją na start. W jej ramach możesz za 1 PLN dostać tablet lub hulajnogę, obie o wartości około 2000 złotych. W związku z tym tego smartfona kupiłbym albo na start, albo za kilka miesięcy, gdy kwota zacznie mocno spadać na zagranicznych Amazonach. Co nie zmienia faktu, że tu i teraz taki zakup jestem w stanie polecić.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra made me hate AI photos. I wasn’t a big fan of tweaking my photos using AI editing tools in the first place. There is a sense of personality in capturing imperfect photos. I am, after all, an incredibly average photographer! I know my photos aren’t artistic, and I’m quite happy with that. I don’t need an AI object eraser to remove people or objects, or (more recently) type and describe how I want my photo to look, and let AI do its thing. A lot of phones now offer several AI tools to help you create that “perfect” photo. So, imagine my surprise when Xiaomi said they don’t want to rely heavily on AI camera features, but rather deliver on true camera hardware to help capture perfect photos. After using the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s cameras this week on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island, capturing over 500 photos, I can safely say I agree with their vision.

Those who value what large sensors and Leica-approved optics can do are going to be in photography heaven here. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a well-rounded flagship that has something to offer in every area. Whether you’re looking for high-end gaming performance, a superb screen and speakers, solid battery life and speedy charging, or an incredible camera system, the 17 Ultra has you covered. It’s really those who are into photography and videomaking that will enjoy this phone the most, though. The camera system is truly excellent, and at times, this feels more like a camera than a phone.Of course, no product is perfect, and there are a few areas where Xiaomi is bested by the competition. For instance, both the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Honor Magic 8 Pro have better battery life (in my experience), and they’re better for macro photography, too. But does that mean they’re better choices? Not necessarily. Xiaomi’s image processing and filter selection mean I often prefer the shots from the 17 Ultra, and it has plenty to offer elsewhere, too. One thing’s for certain, this is among the best camera phones available right now.

The performance, the display, and the battery life are all excellent. If any of these are of great importance to you, then the Xiaomi 17 Ultra won't disappoint. The camera package is excellent and truly something to behold, giving you exceptional quality and versatility. The only problem? Well, the only issue is last year's Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which was a bit more consistent even though it lacked a vario periscope. If you haven't used the Xiaomi 15 Ultra or even the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, however, you'd be none the wiser. Another downside is the software, which feels like something out of 2020 for all the wrong reasons.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has some of the best cameras I’ve ever used on a phone. The 1-inch sensor produces hugely detailed images with controlled highlights, especially at night, where the phone shines (not a pun). The overall look of images feels genuinely photographic. I love the Leica-tuned profiles that give images a professional tone that, to my eye, stands out from almost every other flagship right now. But it’s not flawless. The mechanical 75–100mm zoom is technically clever, yet in real use, I didn’t find the 25mm range enough to be transformative.

The more mainstream design and a battery that’s not quite class-leading also mean it’s perhaps not quite as special as earlier efforts were, though Leica lovers probably won’t mind too much.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra makes one thing very clear: this is a camera-first flagship in every sense. From the 1-inch primary sensor to the new continuous optical zoom telephoto system, the phone is engineered around photography rather than just adding impressive specs for the sake of it. In both daylight and low light, it consistently delivers results that are among the best I’ve seen on a smartphone so far this year. Beyond the cameras, the upgrades are meaningful. A larger 6.9-inch flat display, a massive 6,800mAh battery without added bulk, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset all make this a serious flagship package. The only caveat is that this Chinese unit has certain software limitations, so it’s hard to judge the full experience until the global version arrives.

With the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi makes its ambition to rival the iPhone 17 Pro Max clear not only in name, but also in imaging performance. This strategy largely succeeds in Photo, where the device scores just one point below Apple’s flagship. The slight deficit is mainly due to zoom limitations, stemming from the ultra-wide camera’s constrained 17mm focal length, which reduces flexibility at shorter zoom ranges. That said, the Xiaomi’s primary camera slightly outperforms the iPhone’s, delivering consistently accurate exposure, pleasing color rendering, and an excellent texture/noise trade-off. Noise is particularly well controlled, often surpassing Apple’s performance in challenging scenes.

Its massive 7,500mAh battery delivers class-leading endurance, easily outlasting most rivals. However, despite the Leica branding, the camera system still feels unrefined — with inconsistent color tuning, a weak ultrawide lens, and underwhelming video output. HyperOS 3.0 also continues to lag behind competitors in polish and consistency. Overall, the 17 Pro Max is innovative and powerful but still lacks the finesse needed to truly challenge Samsung, Apple, or even Vivo at the very top.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a well-rounded flagship phone without many weak points, if at all. It has the latest and greatest chipset, a high-end display, an excellent build, a huge battery, snappy charging, amazing speakers and dependable camera hardware. The secondary display is a nice touch, as it makes the Pro Max stand out, but, most importantly, it makes the selfie-taking experience with the rear cameras so much more flexible. Despite being so well-rounded, however, it's hard to recommend the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max if you are looking for an amazing camera phone. The cameras here seem good to the average Joe, but there are objectively better alternatives with more capable hardware right now, and the telephoto camera is a miss. Sadly, the camera department is the only one that keeps the 17 Pro Max from getting an excellent score.

Xiaomi is feeling bold and confident with this year's Xiaomi 17 lineup, even if they are only launching the devices in China for now. We rarely see large smartphone makers experiment with features like secondary displays on the back. The last Xiaomi phone with a similar feature was the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, released in 2021. Xiaomi might be onto something this time around, as the rear screen is already confirmed to stay for at least another generation. The rear screen isn't the only highlight feature of the 17 Pro Max too. It is seemingly packed to the bream with some great hardware - a huge and bright LTPO OLED panel on the front, the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, a huge 7,500 mAh battery with fast charging and a capable camera setup. What's not to like?
