Sytuację tylko nieco poprawia fakt, że przy zakupie do końca roku można otrzymać paczkę z prezentami o łącznej wartości 1100 zł, ale powstaje od razu pytanie, kto faktycznie zrobi z nich użytek? To już nie lepiej dopłacić 500 zł do OnePlusa 15 i dostać darmowego smartwatcha? Poza tym jakoś nie mogę oprzeć się wrażeniu, że gdyby sprzedawano ten model w "gołej" wersji po znacznie niższej cenie, np. za 2399 zł, to i tak byłbym w stanie przedstawić cały szereg bardziej atrakcyjnych alternatyw, jak np. Google Pixel 9, realme GT 7 czy Xiaomi 15T / 15T Pro. Myślę więc, że producent prędzej czy później będzie musiał zdecydować się na solidną obniżkę ceny. Absolutnie nie mówię, że edge 70 to zły smartfon. Zła jest tutaj przede wszystkim cena i oferta na start sprzedaży.

But I’m not so sure about the Motorola Edge 70, which has fallen in with the wrong crowd by trying to follow the new thin-phone ‘trend’. Super-thin smartphones are starting to feel like a new bandwagon that tech companies are leaping on, apparently after having noticed the huge lack of interest buyers had in the last bandwagon: AI. This bandwagon’s turning out no better: we didn’t love the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, and the iPhone Air was lambasted online, and so the Motorola Edge 70 has a lot to prove.

That’s why Motorola’s Edge 70 feels like the first slimline phone that makes sense. It’s not a flagship, with a much more comfortable £699 price tag that makes the ultrathin compromises much easier to swallow. And even then, Motorola has managed to up the competition in the all-important battery life and charging department, which alone should make the Edge 70 a tempting alternative to the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. I can’t recommend the Motorola Edge 70. Although it offers the best balance between price and functionality of any ultra-thin smartphone I’ve tested, I don’t think that this particular form factor is there yet. If brands don’t drop the idea entirely, I do not doubt that the next generation (or perhaps the one after that) will be even thinner and lighter, while offering better performance and battery life – switching to silicon-carbon cells will be a big help there. For the time being, if you’re desperate for an ultra-thin phone, this is the one to buy. The lightweight build is wonderful, and the price isn’t as tear-inducing as the other options. To anyone else, however, I’d say you’re better off waiting and seeing where this particular trend leads before putting down your money.
