Obcując z Motorolą Razr 70 Ultra mam nieodparte wrażenie, że ten telefon to po prostu powtórka z rozrywki, bo umówmy się – nie różni się od Motoroli Razr 60 Ultra niemalże niczym. Ma obudowę w nieco innych kolorach, dostała ekran o wyższej jasności szczytowej oraz pojemniejszy akumulator – i to w zasadzie wszystko, a przynajmniej na to wygląda na pierwszy rzut oka. W związku z powyższym, jeżeli tak jak ja korzystacie z Motoroli Razr 60 Ultra, przesiadka na nowszy model może nie mieć najmniejszego sensu. Jasne, sama bym go chętnie używała, ale po prostu nie widzę tu wystarczającego uzasadnienia do zakupu. To natomiast dobra propozycja przede wszystkim dla tych osób, które szukają swojego pierwszego składanego smartfonu, albo chcą porzucić starszego składaka, bo na pewno już teraz mogę powiedzieć, że to smartfon solidny, działający płynnie i pod wieloma względami lepszy niż alternatywa od Samsunga. Jak już wspomniałam, Motorola Razr 70 Ultra jest droższa na start niż Razr 60 Ultra, bo kosztuje 5999 złotych, a nie 5699 złotych. Można ją jednak zgarnąć nieco taniej, bo jeśli kupicie ją do 2 czerwca bieżącego roku, będziecie mogli skorzystać z opcji cashback i odzyskać aż 1000 złotych.

The Motorola Razr Ultra has not changed much this year, but it's still an excellent flip phone. Its price, however, has ballooned to $1,500 which is just way out of reach for most people. Samsung's Galaxy Flip 7 might be the older phone, but it is commonly found on discount at prices as low as $900. With such a massive gap between the two, the practical choice is clear, but if price is no issue or if Motorola introduces some big discounts, the Razr wins on battery size, charging and just pure looks and comfort, while the Galaxy gets longer updates and a more feature rich One UI skin.

So here’s where we land after a couple of weeks with the Razr Ultra 2026: it’s a great flip phone, maybe the best flip phone you can buy right now, but you should probably wait for a discount. Sound familiar? That’s because it’s the same verdict I reach pretty much every single year with Motorola’s flagship flip. The “same, same, but different” approach works in Motorola’s favor in a lot of ways. You’re getting the gorgeous Pantone-backed design, that fantastic full-screen 4-inch cover display that I keep gravitating toward, brighter Extreme AMOLED panels, a less noticeable crease, and a bigger 5,000mAh battery thanks to Silicon Carbon. The performance is excellent too, with the tweaked Snapdragon 8 Elite Pro and improved thermals actually pushing benchmark numbers higher than last year despite being essentially the same chip on paper.

The only genuine reason to buy the Motorola Razr (2026) is its compact folding phone design, and the fact that it’s the cheapest way to try out what is a great style. The cover screen and Motorola’s implementation of the software on it is also the best you can get, and the phone feels well-made and durable. However, this is really where the good stops, and the compromises begin. They stack up pretty quickly, too. The performance is lackluster for an $800 phone, and non-folding phones that cost much less feel snappier and more willing to multitask.The main camera’s colorful vibrancy appeals, but look closely at the photos, and the detail just isn’t there. The software isn’t supported for as long as many of its rivals, the inner screen’s plastic protector lets it down, and the battery life and charging don’t stand out either.If you own a 2025 Razr or even the 2024 Razr, there’s no reason at all to upgrade. If you’re really keen on a compact folding phone, I’d recommend saving a little longer to get the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.If you want a reasonably priced phone that handles the day-to-day but can still impress, anything from the Pixel 10a to the Galaxy A57 offers better value and more long-term support than the Razr (2026).

The Motorola Razr Ultra (2026) brings tactile fun back to phones with its wood and Alcantara finishes—though the latter is a bit of a dust magnet. Other upgrades include a brighter display, a more durable cover screen, a new 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and new AI tricks. You also get a trio of 50MP cameras that are quite good (for a folding phone), and flip-based fun in camcorder mode for video. While I was hoping the big battery would lead to longer battery life, the Razr Ultra still outclasses the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in that respect, as well as in overall performance despite the year-old processor. If you don't mind the high price, it's a great folding phone, though it stops short of earning our Editors' Choice. Those who prefer Samsung's ecosystem should stick with the Z Flip 7, particularly since it costs $400 less.

Pricing for this phone starts at $1,499.99, which has a complicated story behind it. Last year, the Razr Ultra launched at $1,299.99, but if you went to Motorola.com three weeks ago, you'd see it was currently selling for $799.99, with an MSRP of $1,499.99. So, is this phone more expensive? It's hard to say. This is Motorola, so give it a few weeks (tops) and the price will come down (if the past informs the future). Like I said at the beginning, if you have any version of the Razr 2025, you already have the 2026 version of the device, more or less. If you're using the Razr Ultra 2025 right now, you already have the 2026 version of this phone, full stop. There's no need to upgrade, there is nothing worth it. If you have an older phone and you want to upgrade, that's fair. I said last year, this is a good phone. That's still the case here. But I don't think it's a $1,500 phone; it's a $1,300 phone at best, and even that is stretching things. Mostly, it just feels like Motorola has stagnated in this space. That's not generally a major problem, because in this writer's opinion, Moto has (still) been pretty far ahead of its U.S. competition, but Samsung is catching up, so Moto is squandering its lead. Yes, this is a good phone, but it's last year's flagship at this year's price. If (and when) it makes it back down to $799.99, go ahead and pick it up; it'll be a great deal. But until that happens, you can wait.

The second I picked up the Razr Ultra for 2026 at an event in Los Angeles, I knew what I was in for: a phone similar to the one Motorola made last year, but a little faster. The flip phone, which has stood out as one of the best on the market for the last 12 months, got a small refresh for this year with new colors, a new chip, and longer battery life. It also got a new price - $200 more than the previous version. The Motorola Razr Ultra is still the best flip phone you can buy, even beating Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7. But the price is hard to swallow; at $1,499.99, you’re paying for what’s essentially the same phone as last year, save for a couple of upgrades here and there. After spending time with the phone and getting to know it, those upgrades haven’t proven to be extraordinary or life-changing, just nice to have. The Razr Ultra for 2026 is definitely better than the 2025 version, if only for the faster speeds and good looks. So long as you can get it at a discounted price, it’ll deliver the best flip phone experience you can get.

However, a new camera sensor and a couple of new camera features aren't enough to justify the bloated $1,500 price tag. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 was already hard to recommend at its $1,300 retail price, but fortunately, there were plenty of deals throughout the year that made it worth buying. That said, it's pretty telling that the Razr Ultra 2026 won't be available from any carriers, at least as far as we know. The Razr Ultra 2026 is a good phone, but it's not $1,500 good. I like it just as much as the Razr Ultra 2025, but that's the problem; I should like it more than its predecessor. At this point, I would suggest getting last year's model or splurging on the Razr Fold. Or if you really want a flip phone, you could spring for the base Razr 2026 or Galaxy Z Flip 7. Otherwise, you may want to wait for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 or simply hold out for any Razr Ultra 2026 sales, which we'll obviously be on the lookout for.

However, if post-launch discounts shave a few hundred dollars off the sticker price, this foldable becomes seriously tempting.

At the time of writing, Motorola is also offering a promotional bundle that includes a 4-pack of Moto Tags and the Moto Buds 2 Plus at no extra cost. Like the Razr Fold, the Razr Ultra is available in only one hardware configuration. And like other Motorola Razr models, you should really only buy it when it's on sale, which is only a matter of time. While I've found the Razr Ultra to be a great phone, there's no getting around the fact that it is expensive. Buyers looking for a more affordable flip-style foldable may want to consider Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is currently available for around $1,020 for the 512GB model. Considering last year's Razr Ultra model may be an even smarter choice.

It's pretty simple to review the 2026 Razr Ultra ... because it's not all that different from the 2025 Razr Ultra. Like I said in my hands-on, I spent the past year with the earlier model, and enough of that year was positive that I expected to re-recommend this one. But there's a fine line between "sticking with what works" and "falling asleep on cruise control," and I think Motorola's sliding right along on that "razr's" edge. If you’re into the flip phone format and it’s simply a case of deciding which suits you best, it’s worth considering the Razr 70 Ultra for that outstanding battery life alone. Not only is it the best we’ve seen from a clamshell foldable, it beats out plenty of non-folding phones, too. Add in the brilliant performance, bold and unique designs, a cover display that’s as wonderful as ever and fun new tricks like rotate to zoom, and the Razr 70 Ultra is the best representation of what foldables should be right now: it’s fun to use and defiantly different. The only thing holding it back – and it is, unfortunately, a big thing – is Motorola’s lacklustre software support. No phone that costs four figures should be tapping out of OS updates after a paltry three years, and until Motorola addresses this issue, there will always be those who will (and should) opt instead for the safer long-term bet of a Galaxy Z Flip.

As good as the Razr 70 Ultra is, and it is good, after spending a couple of weeks with it, I’m still not sure why anyone would buy it over the previous Razr 60 Ultra. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with it. The design is lovely, the cover screen remains one of the best on any flip phone, battery life is solid, and the fast charging is genuinely convenient. It’s also powerful, easy to live with, and more than capable of delivering the kind of experience most people want from a compact foldable. The problem is that it just doesn’t move the formula on enough. The internal screen is still quite narrow, Moto AI adds very little of real value, and the camera and software experience don’t feel meaningfully better than before. So while this is one of the best foldable phones you can buy, I’d still be more tempted by last year’s model if you can get it for less.

My personal favourite? Well, you'll have to watch the video for that, but both flip phones have their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, the Galaxy boasts many more years of OS updates, while the Motorola RAZR 70 Ultra packs a bigger capacity battery vs the Z Flip 7. Of course, question is: does that translate into better battery life? And what happens when you get gaming? The camera setup is pretty similar, but again the results couldn't be more different. The Motorola RAZR 70 Ultra spaffs out photos with Pantone validated colours, while both can shoot 4K video at up to 60FPS.
