As of mid-November 2025, the Galaxy S25 FE can be found online for as low as RM2,549 for the entry-level 256GB configuration, via e-commerce platforms such as Shopee. Meanwhile, with the Galaxy S26 series expected in less than six months, the Galaxy S25 has received price cuts on platforms like Lazada, dropping to around RM3,098 for the base 256GB storage option, which is a substantial RM900 price reduction from its launch price. Considering its larger display, longer battery life, faster charging, and lower price, the Galaxy S25 FE clearly offers better value for most users and is easily my choice of device between the two. That said, if raw performance and portability are your top priorities and you don’t mind the smaller battery, slower charging, and slightly higher price, the Galaxy S25 remains the better choice.

There's just enough here to justify spending $650 on a phone that is barely an upgrade over its predecessor. If you're a Samsung fan, I'm sure the S25 FE will be frequently discounted, but why reward the company for a lazy effort? Besides, the S25, following a $200 discount for Prime Day, was only $10 more than the FE earlier this month. Over the past few years, Google and Nothing have shown midrange phones don't need to be boring, iterative affairs. For Samsung, I think it's time to rethink its FE strategy. If these phones offered something different — say actual fan favorite features like a headphone jack — there could be compelling reasons to recommend them. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Review: A flagship-lite that gets the balance right

I have been using Samsung smartphones since the brand dropped the Galaxy S4 Mini, and over the years, I have upgraded through some of its flagship – from Galaxy S8 to Galaxy S20 and most recently the Galaxy S23 Plus. What kept me loyal is Samsung’s knack for delivering a perfect blend between powerful hardware, polished software and everyday ease of use. That’s not all, over the years, Samsung has also built an entire ecosystem with its A, M, and F series across different price segments, but there was always a gap- a device that carries flagship traits without the flagship price tag. And in 2020, Samsung finally stepped in with the FE lineup and here we are in 2025 with the latest addition: the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. And this time, the Samsung fanboy in me- who once only aspired to own every flagship, finally gets to put the new S25 FE through its paces. Here’s my honest take on whether Samsung’s latest FE still nails that perfect blend of value and performance.

Samsung did not make any radical changes to the Galaxy S25 FE compared to last year's fan model. Instead, it focused on improvements that affected the dimensions, weight, design and battery of the smartphone. The result was quite successful. The smartphone is really noticeably more affordable than older flagships. At the same time, it offers a good screen, a nice design, IP68 protection, high performance, loud sound, good cameras and a user-friendly interface with continuous updates. Among the complaints, it is worth mentioning the traditionally "hot" Exynos processor, as well as the lack of autofocus in the ultra-wide-angle camera, which has long been available in smartphones half the price.

The question now becomes – should you buy the Galaxy S25 FE? Well, I’d say yes. Okay, before you head to the comments section and be angry, hear me out. The Galaxy S25 FE is priced at USD $709.99 for 256GB, now discounted to USD $649.99 – or RM3,099 in Malaysia. While that sounds high, it’s actually lower than the S24 FE for us in Malayisa, but the same USD pricing. With that said, it’s still at a high price. But – Samsung did have a huge discount for the S24 FE down to around RM2,099. And I think the same will hapen for the S25 FE too. When that happens, the S25 FE is really affordable. While it’s very similar to the S24 FE, I’d still suggest getting the S25 FE. You do get another year of extra Android OS upgrade and security patches because of the release date, and also an upgraded selfie camera if you care about that. Still, I do think Samsung should’ve used the Exynos 2500 in the S25 FE.

At £649, it’s actually more expensive than the regular S25, which you can get hold of these days for just a smidge over £500. On top of being cheaper, it also has a better camera system and is lighter and more compact. The FE, to be fair to it, is closer in size and spec to the S25 Plus, which is considerably more expensive at around £750. But for your extra money, you’re getting double the storage, as well as 1.5 times the RAM, a slimmer profile and a better camera system. I’m sure the S25 FE will provide the perfect fit for some people. And we’ll be passing our final verdict on it when we get our hands on one for testing soon, but for now I’m not convinced it’s a persuasive enough proposition for many to pick it over the more capable S25 and S25 Plus.

Samsung’s September lineup looks like a solid iteration on a bunch of products that we mostly like. I’m always pleased to see cheaper phone options and am very curious to see how the Galaxy S25 FE compares to other midrange powerhouses like the iPhone 16e and the especially fantastic Google Pixel 9a. At the Galaxy Unpacked event today, Samsung showed off its latest Galaxy S25 FE smartphone and two new premium Galaxy Tab 11 tablets. Along with the usual hardware upgrades, these new devices are predictably geared for AI, with Samsung focusing on the Galaxy AI experiences available on them. For example, one can use the phone camera with the preloaded Gemini Live AI assistant or easily perform a generative AI edit of a photo. Indeed, the upgrades are minor on the latest Galaxy S25 FE, which remains more affordable than the flagship Galaxy S25 phones. It has a similar 6.7-inch 120Hz display as the previous Galaxy S24 FE, though the bezels are slimmer. But minor nitpick here: The bezels are not uniform, with the bottom one looking just a tad thicker.
