HONOR Magic8 Pro to smartfon, który wywołuje u mnie mieszane uczucia. Z jednej strony mamy tu do czynienia z urządzeniem o fenomenalnej baterii, która w moich testach wypadła rewelacyjnie, oraz z przepięknym, jasnym ekranem, który jest łaskawy dla oczu. Nie można też odmówić mu wydajności, bo mimo podejrzanie niskiego wyniku w AnTuTu (który zrzucam na barki tego, kiedy wykonywałam ten test), w codziennym użytkowania działa jak burza, a wsparcie aktualizacjami przez 7 lat to ogromny atut. Z drugiej strony wobec flagowców mam wysokie wymagania, a ten model nie spełnia wszystkich. Na tworzywo sztuczne z tyłu mogę przymknąć oko, bo to i tak solidny materiał, ale obudowa jest niestety strasznie śliska. Największym rozczarowaniem okazały się jednak dla mnie możliwości fotograficzne i wideo.

It’s also objectively on level-pegging terms when it comes to performance, and the battery is far more convenient thanks to that fast charging. It can also slot fairly seamlessly into your Apple ecosystem, and even plays nicely with iPhones. The problem? It’s the Magic8 Lite. It’s cheaper, has an even bigger battery, and some wild robustness claims (I fired a staple directly into its display during the press briefing, and there wasn’t a mark on it afterwards). It’ll be enough for most people and is probably the only Achilles heel for the Magic8 Pro.

One thing that I love (again) about this phone is the face unlock. It is unlike anything I have previously used. HONOR says in its documentation that it uses 3D Face Recognition, and it really shows. When I pick the phone up, it immediately unlocks, so I only have to swipe from the lock screen. I literally cannot fault it. It seems like it does not require you to point your face to the screen at all for it to recognize you and unlock; it is just super fast. The same can be said of the fingerprint sensor; it is quick.
