EN→PLThe Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP216-51-G2) offers enough power for daily or office tasks. However, all CPU options lack a dedicated NPU unit for accelerated AI productivity. Aside from that, the overall performance is good. In our case, the Core i5-1334U P and E cores boost to ~ 2.86 GHz / 2.10 GHz even when the chip is pushed to its limits. That’s more than enough for normal work. The comfort is also adequate, the board doesn’t feel hot to the touch and the fan isn’t intrusively loud. Still, the thermal system is a bit downgraded compared to the 2023 version – it lacks one heat pipe. The 1200p IPS panel is typical for a budget workhorse. It’s a PWM-free screen with wide viewing angles and 315 nits of max brightness.

EN→PLThe TravelMate P2 is nothing if not good value, giving you a big screen and a comfortable working experience for under £750 if you stick to the Core i5 version. It's not perfect, and buyers will have to live with a screen with mediocre color performance, a single USB Type-C port, the 720p webcam, and unimpressive battery life. As a mostly desk-based productivity machine, these faults are far from fatal, and the low cost and sheer usability makes up for a lot. However, there are key areas like the keyboard and the battery life where Lenovo's similar ThinkPad E16 comes out on top, while not being substantially more expensive.

EN→PLThe Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP216-51) is a surprisingly good laptop. Its build quality is not the best but the device can offer long battery life and great CPU clocks under heavy loads. The cooling solution with just one fan and two heat pipes seems enough for a 28W CPU limit during longer processor stress and that’s a very good result. The Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP216-51) doesn’t cost a lot and it amazes us with its long battery life, high CPU frequencies, and great upgradability.

EN→PLIf you don’t want to spend a whole fortune on a new 14-inch machine but need to buy a snappy laptop with good battery life, the Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-55) can give you all that without breaking the bank. The chassis may be made of plastic but it’s solid for the most part and its matte surface isn’t a fingerprint magnet. The input devices are also good for work. This reminds us that the single fan is almost quiet during long CPU loads. The thermal system may look unpretentious but it’s capable. The CPU can sustain ~3.00 GHz / 2.10 GHz P and E-core clock which is a record-breaking result for a Core i5-1335U-based laptop. Our notebook will not top any benchmark charts since the overall performance is a bit hindered by the DDR4 memory in single-channel mode.

EN→PLThe TravelMate P2 (TMP215-55) is a solid offer in its class if you order it with a 10-core processor and at least 16GB of RAM. This reminds us that you get good upgradability and port selection which makes this device future-proof. The keyboard and the touchpad are also good enough for work or daily usage. We could only wish for a bit more solid main body. The optional IPS display (N156HCA-EAB (CMN1561)) is business as usual. It’s PWM-free which is the most important thing for prolonged hours of usage. The panel’s viewing angles are wide and the max brightness reaches 342 nits. Expectedly, the color coverage and the accuracy are nothing to write home about. The TravelMate P2 is an inexpensive office workhorse that may attract future buyers with its IPS display, good battery life, rich port selection, and nice upgradability.

EN→PLSo… would I recommend the Acer TravelMate P2 14 AI? Not at its current MSRP of $1,699. Taking price, performance, and battery into account, I’d argue that the more compelling option is the Acer TravelMate X4 14 AI. Not only is it less expensive than the TravelMate P2 14 AI (currently $1,290.99 at Best Buy), but it’s got better battery life (20 hours!), slightly faster productivity performance, and stronger graphics performance. For most people, the TravelMate X4 14 AI is the easier recommendation.
