Jak napisałem we wstępie, OnePlus Nord 5 to nowy pogromca średniaków. Producent sugeruje, że to tańsza alternatywa dla modeli ze znacznie wyższej półki, jednak Nord 5 ma w sobie zbyt wiele kompromisów. W porównaniu do zeszłorocznego flagowca OnePlusa 12, nie mówiąc o najnowszym 13, widać kilka mankamentów – brak eSIM, brak ładowania bezprzewodowego, brak aparatu z teleobiektywem, pamięć masowa w starszym standardzie UFS 3.1, USB tylko 2.0... Jednocześnie Nord 5 wykazuje problem typowy dla flagowców – potrafi się mocno nagrzać. Jednak w swojej klasie, na średniej półce, gdzie znajdują się Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, Motorola Edge 60 Pro czy Samsung Galaxy A56, OnePlus Nord 5 ma spore szanse okazać się hitem. Fajnie wygląda, jest solidnie wykonany, ma bardzo ładny, płaski ekran, wydajność jest więcej niż zadowalająca.

OnePlus Nord 5 to kolejny udany średniak tej firmy – to nie ulega wątpliwości. Zastosowane podzespoły, w szczególności wysokiej klasy procesor, zapewniają prawie perfekcyjne działanie. Smartfon również nie ma czego się wstydzić, jeśli chodzi o wygląd – nie jest może jakoś szczególnie oryginalny w swojej podstawowej bryle, ale “perłowe” czy tam “marmurowe” plecki są bardzo przyjemnym dla oka wyróżnikiem. Na słowa uznania zasługuje również fenomenalny wyświetlacz, któremu nie mam praktycznie nic do zarzucenia. Czy jest to smartfon równie dobry co „trójka” i „czwórka” w dniu swojej premiery? Moim zdaniem tak, choć oczywiście nie obyło się bez kilku wad. Do najpoważniejszych zaliczyłbym aparat fotograficzny, który – niestety – nie jest szczególnie konkurencyjny.

Producent zdecydował się na różne udoskonalenia względem poprzednika (lepszy procesor, ekran czy aparaty i przycisk Plus Key), ale widać też pewne zmiany na minus (mniej pojemna bateria). Na plus warto także wspomnieć o funkcjach z zakresu sztucznej inteligencji. Są tu zarówno autorskie rozwiązania (będące częścią oprogramowania OxygenOS 15), jak i narzędzia Google. Są to Gemini czy Circle to Search. Ceny OnePlus Nord 5 w Polsce zaczynają się od 2199 złotych (2499 złotych za wersję 12 GB RAM/512 GB). Pamiętajmy, że za podobne pieniądze można nabyć wspomniany model POCO F7, który ma lepszy procesor czy znacznie pojemniejszą baterię. Wypada jednak słabiej pod względem aparatów fotograficznych. OnePlus przygotował na start ciekawą promocję, gdzie można sporo zyskać.

OnePlus ponownie próbuje zdefiniować pojęcie „średniopółkowego flagowca”, oferując urządzenie o topowej wydajności, nowoczesnym designie i ogromnej baterii. Wyszedł z tego jeden z najciekawszych smartfonów 2025 roku. Urządzenie to zrobiło na mnie naprawdę dobre pierwsze wrażenie od chwili, gdy rozpakowałam zestaw. I tak naprawdę przez niemal 2 tygodnie, podczas których miałam okazję z niego korzystać, ani razu mnie nie zawiódł. Niebieski smartfon OnePlus stojący pionowo na czarnej, błyszczącej powierzchni obok neonowej niebiesko-białej spirali światła w szklanej tubie, w tle inne kolorowe neony i szklane tuby. Ma kilka drobnych braków, ale w swojej cenie jest jednym z najbardziej opłacalnych wyborów na rynku. Jeśli szukacie smartfona z flagową wydajnością i nie chcecie przepłacać, to średniopółkowy Nord 5 jest propozycją wartą rozważenia.

Prawdziwym problemem tego modelu jest ciągle dostępny w sklepach OnePlus 13R, kosztujący teraz 2499 zł. Ma on ekran LTPO, jeszcze lepszy procesor (Snapdragon 8 bez s), pamięć UFS 4.0, teleobiektyw czy pojemniejszą baterię 6000 mAh. Rady co do OnePlus Nord 5 mam więc dwie. Kup go albo w promocji na start i to w mocniejszej wersji, albo gdy jeszcze mocniej stanieje. Najlepiej wyraźnie poniżej 2000 złotych. A stanie się tak na pewno. Skąd to wiem? Z historii poprzednika. Stał się on bowiem królem promocji i OnePlus Nord 5 też ma szansę na ten tytuł. Już premierowa oferta jest świetna, więc zakup tego telefonu tu i teraz także jest dobrym pomysłem.

OnePlus Nord 5 to solidny, dobrze wykonany smartfon klasy średniej wyższej, który stara się zaoferować możliwie dużo za rozsądną cenę. Mimo marketingowych haseł w stylu „flagship killer”, raczej wpisuje się w aktualny trend oferowania przyzwoitych parametrów w rozsądnym budżecie. Zastosowany procesor Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 zapewnia bardzo dobrą wydajność, ale nie dorównuje jeszcze mocą pełnoprawnym flagowcom. Podobnie sytuacja wygląda z aparatem: główny sensor Sony LYT-700 wypada bardzo dobrze, ale w zestawie brakuje zoomu optycznego, a szeroki kąt ma matrycę 8 MP. Ekran AMOLED 144 Hz i funkcja ładowania by-pass to mocne punkty urządzenia, które docenią gracze, ale osoby oczekujące pełnej wodoszczelności mogą poczuć niedosyt.

OnePlus Nord 5 to bez wątpienia jeden z najciekawszych smartfonów w swojej klasie i nie mam do niego wielkich zastrzeżeń. Ma niezły ekran, wydajny procesor, dopracowane oprogramowanie, szybkie ładowanie i przycisk Plus Key, który polubi mnóstwo osób. Pomimo zmniejszenia pojemności baterii udało się utrzymać długi czas działania. Są też wady. W tej cenie mankamentem jest na pewno brak obsługi kart eSIM, wodoszczelność na skromnym poziomie IP65 i nieco rozczarowujący aparat szerokokątny. Brak teleobiektywu już pomijam. Plastikowa ramka obudowy to na tym tle drobiazg. Gdyby nie istniał Nothing Phone (3a) Pro, a POCO F7 Ultra nie dało się kupić w promocji za około 2300 złotych, powiedziałbym, że OnePlus Nord 5 to pewniaczek, którego większość osób może kupić niemal w ciemno. No i są jeszcze ubiegłoroczne flagowce i OnePlus 13R… OnePlus Nord 5 to kolejny godny uwagi smartfon z tej półki cenowej i mam nadzieję, że ta recenzja jasno tego dowodzi. Będzie ciekawszy, jeśli odrobinkę stanieje.

What the OnePlus Nord 5 does is strike a great compromise: the performance and display are great, and I've really enjoyed gaming on this phone. The software is clean and usable, too, so it's a pleasure to use on a daily basis. If that's what you're looking for, then the OnePlus Nord 5 comes recommended. But it doesn't stand out in the same way that the Nord 4 did with its metal design. That's a shame, because this Nord, while good, is just a little more normal.

At its starting price of Rs 31,999, the OnePlus Nord 5 is a very good value for money for those who want a phone that pretty much does it all. In many ways, it is a classic Nord, but with innards that are close to budget flagship level. It ticks most mid-segment boxes and has no deal-breaking shortcomings. Those who want brute processing power might prefer the Poco F7 or the iQOO Neo 10, but those who want an all-rounder are likely to prefer the Nord 5 for its better main and selfie cameras, and also the slightly more rounded experience from Oxygen OS. This is not to say that it is perfect. We would have loved a better secondary camera on the back and an IP68 rating, and we would be lying if we said we did not miss the stand-out metal-infused design of the Nord 4, but there is still a lot to like in the Nord 5, simply because it does everything well, from handling games to taking pictures to getting through long doomscrolling sessions.

My overall experience with the OnePlus Nord 5 has been overwhelmingly positive. While I may not be the biggest fan of the subtle shifts in its aesthetic and design, the device’s performance has truly impressed me. I would wholeheartedly recommend the OnePlus Nord 5 to a family member, especially if they are seeking a well-rounded smartphone without necessarily chasing the bleeding edge of flagship specifications. It’s true that the OnePlus Nord 5 does omit a few features that a “spec-hunting” flagship user might prioritize. The absence of wireless charging and a formalized IP rating are two notable omissions that prevent it from being a “true” flagship in every sense. However, it’s crucial to understand that this isn’t the target audience for the OnePlus Nord 5.Instead, the prime demographic for this phone is someone like my son, now a teenager, who values different aspects.

Upgrading to the Nord 5 does net you quite a few bonuses, starting with a better camera experience. Compared with the OnePlus Nord CE5, you’ll enjoy more natural looking contrast and bold colours, which I personally like - plus a 50MP selfie camera, which I don’t. Too much detail, you see. The OnePlus Nord 5 also offers a performance boost, thanks to the Snapdragon smarts. Gaming is certainly a smoother experience, although both the Nord CE5 and 5 sport the same battery capacity and charging. OxygenOS 15 is mostly the same across both smartphones. However, the OnePlus Nord CE5 is lacking a Plus key as well as always on display, along with some other settings.

In isolation, the OnePlus Nord 5 is a compelling cut-price handset. You’re getting a bright, colourful display, very capable front and rear cameras, and a smooth-running version of Android that doesn’t overload you with bloat in the way many cheap smartphones do. A handful of play-friendly specs add extra gamer appeal, and it’s great to see the customisable Plus key not being reserved for the firm’s top-tier models. The move away from metal makes this much less of a design stand-out than its predecessor, though. Combined with the redesigned rear camera island, the Nord 5 really looks quite generic. You could argue the same about the Poco F7, but that has a much bigger battery, newer generation chipset, and better water resistance – for less money. If phone photography isn’t your top priority, it’s the obvious choice.

The best thing I can say about the OnePlus Nord 5 is that if I didn’t have to immediately move on to another handset and instead keep this as my daily driver for a bit longer, then I wouldn’t be displeased. I’ve loved having an epic selfie camera available in a pinch, and gaming on the larger 144Hz just feels fantastic. When layered on top of the excellent software experience that OxygenOS brings to the table, there’s a lot to like about the OnePlus Nord 5. I only wish that the phone had kept, or at least evolved, the far more exciting design of the OnePlus Nord 4, and the battery downgrades do mean that there are better options amongst the best mid-range phones when it comes to longevity. The software bugs I experienced during my time with the Nord 5 also prevented me from truly settling in with the device, even though I loved everything else that was on offer, so I can only hope that this is an issue relegated to my pre-release review unit.

All in all, the OnePlus Nord 5 is a nice all-rounder with long battery life, fast charging and great primary and selfie camera performance. However, you can find better alternatives, sometimes even at a lower price. The ultrawide camera, in particular, is disappointing. There is now a plastic frame and back, and the IP rating hasn't been improved. In the EU, the battery capacity and charging power have even been downgraded compared to last year's model. The chipset, too, isn't particularly powerful in this price range. Overall, we liked the Nord 5, but you'll be better off waiting until the price settles down in a few months' time, before you actively start considering.

If you're looking for an all-rounder smartphone under Rs 40,000, the OnePlus Nord 5 truly delivers, and does so with all its might. It offers excellent performance and impressive battery life, all while providing a fluid and enjoyable experience on its large AMOLED display. The design feels premium, and the white variant colour we reviewed, Marble Sands, looks particularly elegant. Now, the camera may not be the best in its class, but in our experience, it didn’t disappoint that much. It’s capable of capturing good-quality photos in daylight, though it does struggle slightly in low-light conditions. That said, at Rs Rs 31,999, the Nord 5 genuinely shines. It is easily one of the best smartphones you can buy right now in this price range, and arguably the best in the game if performance and overall value are your top priorities.

As usual, I slipped my SIM into the Nord 5 to use it as my full-time smartphone. First, the camera tech has been upgraded on the hardware and software side. I found most of my test photos had a flagship-style shine, with natural looking contrast and realistic colours (mostly). Performance on the OnePlus Nord 5 may rest on a slightly older chipset (the SD 8s Gen 3), but gaming on the likes of Wuthering Waves is still a smooth experience. Unfortunately games like WW do wipe the battery quick, but otherwise the battery life is excellent. Just don't expect it to match the Poco F7 or some other recent rivals.
