Test Samsung RC530

W pewien czas po Samsungu RF511 pojawił się model RC530. Jest to jego uboższa wersja, pozbawiona elementów z aluminium i portów USB 3.0. Niemniej jednak w niektórych wersjach stosowano czterordzeniowy procesor Core i7-2630QM. Dodatkowym smaczkiem przetestowanego egzemplarza jest matowa matryca (rzadko spotykana w laptopach multimedialnych, do których zalicza się Samsung RC530).

Obudowa

Obudowa modelu RC530 jest bardzo podobna do większego RC730. W wystroju zewnętrznym dominuje zapewniający element elegancji kolor czarny. Optycznie wyróżniają się tylko klawiatura ze srebrnym wypełnieniem i podświetlany na niebiesko przycisk zasilania. Obszar pulpitu roboczego jest matowy i niepodatny na odciski palców. Wieko natomiast jest bardzo błyszczące i tu śladów z liniami papilarnymi nie sposób uniknąć. 

Sztywność obudowy przedstawia się bardzo dobrze. Słabym punktem jest tylko obszar w okolicy napędu optycznego, co jest częste w laptopach. Poza nim jednostka zasadnicza nie ugina się znacząco ani na spodzie, ani na wierzchu. Obudowa ekranu ugina się w stopniu do przyjęcia. Po zmianie kąta ustawienia wyświetlacza pokrywa przez chwilę się chybocze, ale generalnie zawiasy spisują się dobrze. 

W sumie jakość obudowy przedstawia się korzystnie. Samsung RC530 waży około 2,6 kg, co jest przeciętną wartością. 

Wyposażenie omawianego modelu w złącza nie jest najbogatsze. RC530 nie posiada USB 3.0, FireWire, eSATA i ExpressCard. Nie ma też złącza stacji dokującej. Pocieszające jest to, że otrzymał cztery USB 2.0 i nie zabrakło HDMI. Podobnie jak w wielu innych laptopach, żaden z portów nie znalazł się na tylnej ściance. Osoby używające myszki komputerowej lewą ręką będą miały ograniczoną swobodę ruchów w przypadku zajęcia znajdujących się z lewej strony złączy wtyczkami z odchodzącymi od nich kablami.

Osprzęt

Klawiatura ma konkretne amortyzowanie. Z prawej strony posiada odrębny blok numeryczny. Klawisze są dostatecznie duże i stabilne. Pisanie dłuższych tekstów jest przyjemne. 

Nie ma osobnych przycisków szybkiego dostępu, a funkcje specjalne są przypisane niektórym klawiszom z klawiatury.

Gładzik wypadł zdecydowanie gorzej. Co prawda płytka jest wystarczająco duża (9 x 5,5 cm), ale jej właściwości ślizgowe są słabe. Palec poruszający się po niej jest często wstrzymywany w trakcie ruchu, co z czasem staje się mocno irytujące. 

Przyciski gładzika są dość duże. Na ich połyskliwych powierzchniach wyraźnie widoczne są odciski palców.

Obraz

Testowany Samsung RC530 był wyposażony w matową matrycę o przekątnej 15,6" i rozdzielczości 1366x768 pikseli. Jest to panel produkcji samego Samsunga (LTN154X3-L01). 

Zmierzona przy maksymalnej intensywności podświetlenia głębia czerni miała wartość 1,84 cd/m². To zdecydowanie zbyt dużo. Kontrast również jest słaby; wyraża się proporcją 130:1. To duża wada tej matrycy. 

Pod względem maksymalnej luminancji matryca Samsunga wypada bardzo dobrze. Najwyższa wartość tego parametru wyniosła 257 cd/m², a średnia przekroczyła 237 cd/m².

Do komfortowej pracy na zewnątrz wymagana jest luminancja przekraczająca 200 cd/m². W kontekście tego ważna jest informacja, że na zasilaniu akumulatorowym jest ona nieco niższa, niż na zasilaniu sieciowym. Na środku ekranu zamiast 239 cd/m² wyniosła ona 201 cd/m². 

Kąty widzenia są w laptopach przeważnie wąskie, szczególnie w płaszczyźnie pionowej. Dotyczy to również Samsunga RC530. W zakresie poziomym przekłamania kolorów są umiarkowane.

Osiągi

W omawianym modelu zastosowano czterordzeniowy procesor Intela, Core i7-2630QM. Jednostka ta jest oparta na mikroarchitekturze Sandy Bridge. Potrafi wykonywać obliczenia na ośmiu wątkach jednocześnie. Jej rdzenie są taktowane bazowo z częstotliwością 2 GHz. Technologia Turbo Boost pozwala jednak (o ile zostanie zapewnione odpowiednie chłodzenie) do jej zwiększenia do maksymalnie 2,9 GHz (dla jednego rdzenia). Procesor ten posiada 6 MB pamięci podręcznej trzeciego poziomu. Poza tym zintegrowano z nim układ graficzny HD Graphics 3000. Ten ostatni jest wykorzystywany, gdyż w omawianym modelu zastosowano technologię Nvidia Optimus służącą do automatycznego przełączania układów graficznych. 

W teście renderowania jednowątkowego aplikacji Cinebench R10 (64-bitowej) Samsung RC530 z i7-2630QM uzyskał 3665 pkt. Taktowanie obciążonego rdzenia wynosiło w tym tekście 2,8 GHz. Laptop Alienware M17x R3 z i7-2630QM uzyskał nieco lepszy rezultat, 3712 pkt.

W teście Cinebench R11.5 Samsung RC530, który zdobył 4,73 pkt., wypadł nieco gorzej od innych laptopów z tym samym procesorem. Średnia dla modeli z i7-2630QM to bowiem 5 pkt.

Wydajność systemową poddano analizie w testach PCMark Vantage i PCMark 7. Wynik w tym pierwszym, 6292 pkt., jest dość niski, gdyż laptop z tym samym procesorem i z tą samą kartą grafiki (Acer 5750G) został oceniony na 7777 pkt. W teście PCMark 7 Samsung osiągnął z kolei 2058 pkt. i okazał się gorszy od Toshiby P770 z tymi samymi CPU i GPU, która zaliczyła go z wynikiem 2688 pkt.

Za przetwarzanie grafiki 3D w Samsungu RC530 jest odpowiedzialna karta Nvidia GeForce GT 540M (posiadająca 2 GB pamięci własnej). W teście 3DMark Vantage omawiany model uzyskał 4521 pkt. Jest to wynik na podobnym poziomie, co u innych laptopów z tą samą kartą grafiki. Tylko Sony Vaio F21Z1E (z tym samym procesorem i7-2630QM) uzyskał lepszy, a konkretnie 4589 pkt. Wynik Samsunga w teście 3DMark11, 1014 pkt., również nie odbiega od osiągnięć innych laptopów z kartą GF GT 540M. 

Samsung RC530 ulokował się w środkowej strefie naszych zestawień wyników testów syntetycznych mierzących wydajność graficzną.

Testy gier

W grze DiRT 3 uzyskano pełną płynność w rozdzielczości 800 x 600 i na niskich detalach. Na średnich detalach, w rozdzielczości 1024 x 800, odnotowano 54 kl/s. Grywalność była zapewniona także na wysokiej nastawie, z rozdzielczością 1366 x 768 (31 kl/s). 

Mafia 2 okazała się grywalna w rozdzielczości 1366 x 768 na wysokich ustawieniach detali (42 kl/s). 

Problemy wystąpiły w przypadku gry F1 2011. Tutaj zawiodła technologia Nvidia Optimus, gdyż oprogramowanie nie przełączyło automatycznie przetwarzania grafiki na kartę GeForce. By dało się grać, trzeba było ręcznie wybrać właściwy układ graficzny. W efekcie tego gra stała się płynna do ustawień wysokich i rozdzielczości 1366 x 768 (w tych warunkach uzyskano 49 kl/s). 

Wpływ na otoczenie

Hałas

Pod względem emisji hałasu Samsung RC530 wypada przeciętnie. Podczas używania aplikacji biurowych, przy znikomym obciążeniu podzespołów, laptop ten jest dość cichy. W odległości 15 cm zmierzono od 31,8 do 33,6 dB. Dysk twardy okazał się przy tym cichszy od wentylatora. Pod dużym obciążeniem podzespołów wentylator pracuje na dużo większych obrotach i jest znacznie głośniejszy. Maksymalną zarejestrowaną wartością natężenia hałasu było 40,8 dB. Wówczas szum wytwarzany przez układ chłodzenia może być odbierany jako irytujący. Należy jednak podkreślić, że ta szczytowa wartość została uzyskana przy krańcowym obciążeniu procesora i karty grafiki, co w normalnym użytkowaniu może się zdarzać tylko wyjątkowo.

Ciepło

Temperatury w teście bez dużego obciążania podzespołów okazały się umiarkowane. Obudowa nagrzała się w niewielkim stopniu, do 28,6°C na wierzchu i do 29,5°C na spodzie.

Test maksymalnego obciążenia z użyciem aplikacji Prime95 i FurMark przyniósł znacznie wyższe temperatury obudowy. Średnia wartości maksymalnych zmierzonych na wierzchu wyniosła 30,3°C. Najwyższa temperatura, 37,7°C, została zarejestrowana w lewym tylnym rogu jednostki zasadniczej. Średnia temperatur maksymalnych na spodzie to 30,6°C, czyli niewiele. W jednym z obszarów pomiarowych wychwycono jednak 49,8°C. W przeważającej części Samsung pozostał jednak chłodny nawet w tym teście zmuszającym podzespoły do ekstremalnego wysiłku. Używanie tego laptopa powinno być więc możliwe bez przeszkód, chyba że zdecydujemy się na powtórzenie próby z maksymalnym obciążeniem CPU i GPU. 

Przy jednoczesnym przeprowadzaniu testów aplikacji Prime95 i FurMark doszło po pewnym czasie do zaniżenia częstotliwości taktowania CPU poniżej wartości bazowej. Zdarzały się mianowicie częste, krótkotrwałe spadki do 1,4 GHz. Sytuacja ta miała miejsce tylko w przypadku jednoczesnego dużego obciążenia CPU Intela i GPU Nvidii. W grach ten tzw. throttling procesora nie wystąpił. W F1 2011 taktowanie CPU wynosiło 2,5 GHz (wykorzystywana była funkcja Turbo Boost). Pomiar liczby klatek wyświetlanych na sekundę na rozgrzanym laptopie przyniósł taki sam wynik, jak na zimnym. Przy użytkowaniu aplikacji biurowych zaniżanie taktowania CPU również nie występowało.

Głośniki

Głośniki znajdują się za klawiaturą. Nie zrobiły one na autorze najlepszego wrażenia. Przy użyciu korektora można nieco poprawić właściwości brzmienia. Do rozmów na odległość głośniki będą odpowiednie, ale do oglądania filmów czy słuchania muzyki lepiej podłączyć głośniki zewnętrzne lub słuchawki.

Wydajność akumulatora

Omawiany model był wyposażony w 6-komorowy akumulator o pojemności 57 Wh. W teście czytelnika programu Battery Eater (z wyłączonym modułem łączności bezprzewodowej i z wybranym planem oszczędnym) energii wystarczyło na 8,5 h pracy. Test symulujący korzystanie z internetu, w którym posłużono się średnim podświetleniem ekranu i planem oszczędzania energii, dał wynik nieco ponad 6 h. Przy odtwarzaniu filmu z płyty DVD z maksymalną jasnością obrazu energia wyczerpała się po 5 h. Test klasyczny programu Battery Eater zakończył się po 72 minutach.

Podsumowanie

Ocena RC530 nie jest jednoznaczna. Autor docenił solidność obudowy produktu koreańskiego koncernu oraz jego klawiaturę. Laptop ten pracuje dość cicho w przypadku używaniu aplikacji biurowych, a pod obciążeniem obudowa robi się gorąca tylko na niewielkim obszarze. Akumulator wytrzymał dość długo w teście symulującym normalną pracę, bo ponad 6 h. Matowa matryca cechuje się relatywnie wysoką jasnością obrazu, więc omawiany model może być z powodzeniem używany na dworze. 

Do cech negatywnych RC530 trzeba zaliczyć przede wszystkim to, że wyświetlacz oferuje bardzo słaby kontrast. Gładzik z kolei jest mało użyteczny ze względu na złe właściwości ślizgowe płytki. Autor ocenił również nisko wyposażenie modelu RC530 w złącza.
