Following the China launch in June, Vivo has now officially launched its latest generation foldable smartphone, the X Fold6, in Europe. It directly competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, offering a robust array of features. The Chinese variant of the X Fold6 is slightly different from the global variant. Speaking more precisely, the China model offers a 7,000 mAh battery, while the global variant ships with a slightly smaller 6,900 mAh BlueVolt battery with support for 80 W wired and 40 W wireless charging. We actually did a review of the Chinese variant. You can find details here.
Dimension-wise, the book-style foldable smartphone measures 9.4 mm (0.37 inches when folded) and 4.4 mm (0.17 inches) when unfolded, weighing around 228 grams (8.04 ounces). In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (curr. at $2,099.99 on Amazon) is lighter and thinner than the X Fold6, measuring just 8.9 mm (0.35 inches) when folded and 4.1 mm (0.16 inches) when unfolded, while weighing 215 grams (7.58 ounces).
Under the hood, the foldable device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset paired with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. It boots OriginOS7 for Fold out of the box. Interestingly, Vivo promises 5 years of major OS updates (up to Android 23) and 7 years of security patches until 2033. Although this commitment still falls a little short of what Samsung offers, which is 7+7 (Android OS upgrades + security patches) years of software support for its latest generation foldable.
Ekran główny to 8,02-calowy wyświetlacz Zeiss Master 8T LTPO o rozdzielczości 2504 x 2312 pikseli, a ekran zewnętrzny ma przekątną 6,51 cala i rozdzielczość 2528 x 1120 pikseli.
