Considering the low price of the Lenovo Tab M9 (TB310FU), this tablet isn’t bad at all! Our only advice is to pick one with 4GB of RAM. Even then, try not to open a lot of tabs at once while browsing the Web which can cause system hiccups. The microSD card slot and the 3.5 mm headset jack add more points to the overall positive impression. Also, the audio quality is clear and it’s Dolby Audio enhanced. Now, the 9″ display has wide viewing angles and it’s also PWM-free. We are surprised by the 85% sRGB coverage and the pretty high 1900:1 contrast ratio. Hold your horses – the max brightness reaches 454 nits! The main con of this screen seems to be the low-ish 800p resolution. At the end of the day, the Lenovo Tab M9 looks like a good bang for the buck thanks to its sturdy metal build, bright IPS display, and long battery life.

If I’d ended up with the Nook 9-inch Lenovo tablet before my Nook 4 Glowlight Plus and my multiple tablets, including an iPad and Galaxy Tab, I’d be content using only this device for my reading and casual media consumption for a while. It's great as an LCD alternative to E ink reading, meets expectations with simple tasks, and works well for colorful media like cookbooks and comic books. This is not a $1,000+ high-definition tablet, and I won’t regard it as such, but the display works for home chefs, comic enthusiasts, and movie buffs who don't dissect displays down to the pixel. In no simpler terms, this'll do for pre-existing Nook users who can't splurge on higher-end tablets. I wish Nook would explore more E ink formats, like 10+ inch tablets or a color E ink device, but the new Lenovo tablet will keep me satisfied in the meantime.

If we’re being honest, it’s hard to fully recommend the Lenovo Tab M9. Typically, there is a use case for every device. Still, this budget tablet doesn’t undercut the cheapest options on price, doesn’t outperform comparable options, and suffers some frustrating technical issues that are enough to make you swear off budget devices altogether. Yes, the battery is big enough to get you by, and the Reading Mode does impress, but you can find bigger batteries and more immersive reading modes on other tablets that are at least close when it comes to prices. All of this to say, there are better tablets out there that are certainly worth your time more than this one, and for not all that much more cash, either.

In December 2022, the Lenovo company released its Lenovo Tab M9 tablet with an expected price of $170 (Rs 13,990 in India) approx. The tablet equips a Li-Po 5100 mAh battery with regular 10W fast charging support. For color options, the Lenovo Tab M9 offers Arctic Grey and Frost Blue colors. For the camera section, you will get a single 8MP camera lens with a 2MP selfie lens. From the main camera setup, you are able to record 1080p resolution video. As for the display, the Lenovo Tab M9 equips a tall 9.0 inches IPS LCD display with a 400 nits brightness rating. The tablet runs on the Android 12 Operating system. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 12nm – MediaTek MT6769V/CV Helio G80 chipset that provides Mali-G52 GPU support. In terms of storage, this tablet offers 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage accompanied by 3GB and 4GB RAM support, while a dedicated card slot is also present.
