The laptop's combination of an Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 9 processor, the choice of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060 graphics card, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage makes for a powerful suite of hardware that is more than well-suited for the needs of the average consumer, as well as those who dabble in creative tasks.

To be fair, Dell didn't set out to build the most exciting machine with the practical and affordable Inspiron 16 Plus. Regardless, the company neglects to fully exploit the 16-inch size in terms of ports and keyboard layout, and the laptop's performance trails at nearly every turn short of battery life.Performance-hungry users should consider mid-tier gaming laptops first, as they don’t suffer from the GPU power limit that holds this Inspiron back so noticeably. Among other alternatives, the Acer Swift Go 16 is much less expensive and nails the utilitarian role better, while the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 Gen 9 is pricier but presents major performance and display advantages. If your heart is set on the Inspiron brand, we'd suggest waiting for a larger discount on this one.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus is a nice machine. It’s a 16-inch laptop with excellent performance, long battery life, high-quality cooling, an all-metal build, and even discrete graphics for gaming and other professional tasks. At $1,499, that’s not bad — remember that you’re getting the kind of GPU you would often have to get a more expensive gaming laptop for. Dell told me that this particular configuration was on sale for $1,299 right before we reviewed it, and it was once again discounted to same price while we were wrapping up our review. In general, laptops frequently go on sale — and you might be able to scoop up this one for hundreds of dollars off if you want for the right time.

The Inspiron 16 Plus is Dell's budget-friendlier, big-screen, content-creation laptop. It has an all-metal chassis and discrete GPU options you won't find with a non-Plus Inspiron 16 but without the higher price, OLED display and radical design of the premium XPS 16 9640. With the Inspiron 16 Plus 7640, Dell adds Intel's Core Ultra AI processors but keeps the design basically unchanged from last year's Inspiron 16 Plus 7630. Other than two new Core Ultra CPU options, there is little difference between this year's Inspiron 16 Plus and last year's. The design is no more exciting this year than last, and the lack of an OLED option remains frustrating. The 16-inch IPS panel's color accuracy is lacking for graphics pros, but its crisp 2.5K resolution and speedy 120Hz refresh rate should suffice for creative hobbyists and even casual gamers.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 could be a great companion for people who are often on the go and need a big-screen laptop. In this scenario, if you choose an iGPU-only machine with a smaller battery, you’ll get a sub-2.0 kg notebook with a thin profile. If you prefer a long-lasting battery, look for an Intel Evo-certified device combined with the optional 90Wh unit (just like we did). The keyboard is comfortable for work but the left and the center areas are a bit flexy during harsh typing which isn’t a pleasant experience. The touchpad is also decent. Despite the modest-looking thermal system with just one fan, the optional Core Ultra 7 155H can maintain a 2.74 GHz P-core clock and a 55W power limit in longer CPU loads which is a pretty respectable result for such a thin laptop.

The Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 (7640) is a powerful laptop at a price that isn't crazy, and that will be enough for many shoppers. The sometimes potent performance, the long battery life, and the included pen transform this 2-in-1 from an awkwardly sized tablet into a decent desktop drawing tool. That drawing capability is the Inspiron's genuine selling point, even if the convertible design is too clunky for other uses, but it could be made even better with punchier graphics.On the minus side, while the Inspiron provides an excellent display and decent productivity performance, its bulky convertible design, lack of a dedicated GPU, and inconsistent overall performance make it a questionable value proposition compared with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 Gen 9.

Karty z tej kategorii są w stanie pociągnąć płynnie najnowsze gry, ale

nie ze wszystkimi opcjami i nie w wysokiej rozdzielczości. Szczególnie

wymagające gry chodzą tylko na minimalnych ustawieniach, w wyniku

czego często mocno cierpi jakość grafiki. Układy z tej klasy powinny

zainteresować osoby rzadko grające w gry.

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs:

Intel Arc 8-Core: Zintegrowana karta graficzna oparta na architekturze Xe LPG (podobnej do dedykowanych procesorów graficznych Arc, ale z naciskiem na wydajność). Zapewnia wszystkie 8 rdzeni Xe (128 silników wektorowych Xe) i 8 jednostek ray tracingu.

Powinny być w stanie zapewnić płynność we wszystkich najnowszych
