Obudowa i funkcje - B2502FBA z Thunderbolt 4

Asus zastosował w B2 obudowę wykonaną z metalu (tył pokrywy) i tworzywa sztucznego (jednostka zasadnicza). Matowoczarne powierzchnie obudowy są podatne na odciski palców. Jednostka zasadnicza i wieko mogą się nieco wykręcać, ale nie ma zauważalnych wad budowy. Akumulator (przykręcony, nie przyklejony) i pozostałe elementy wewnętrzne są dostępne po zdjęciu jednostki zasadniczej.

Kabriolet posiada dwa porty USB-A (1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0) i dwa porty USB-C (1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2). Ten ostatni obsługuje Power Delivery, a port TB4 oferuje także DisplayPort przez USB-C. Tym samym B2 ma dwa wyjścia wideo (HDMI, i DP). Czytnik kart pamięci nie jest dostępny. Dobrze: kamerka internetowa (0,9 MP, maksymalnie 1 280 x 720 pikseli) ma mechaniczną osłonę.

Szybkość transferu WLAN jest znakomita i odpowiada możliwościom układu Wi-Fi (Intel AX211; 802.11ax). Zainstalowany modem 5G (Fibocom FM350-GL) umożliwia połączenia sieciowe za pośrednictwem sieci 5G lub LTE. Obsługiwany jest eSIM, alternatywnie wewnątrz notebooka znajduje się fizyczny uchwyt na kartę SIM.

Urządzenia wejściowe - notebook 2 w 1 jest wyposażony w TrackPoint

Klawiatura chiclet (podświetlenie jednopoziomowe, odporna na zachlapanie) składa się z wklęsłych klawiszy. Oferują one średni skok i mają wyraźny punkt nacisku. Dość wyraźny opór jest przyjemny. Klawiatura minimalnie ugina się podczas pisania. Nie okazało się to jednak denerwujące. Podsumowując, Asus dostarcza klawiaturę, która nadaje się do codziennego użytku.

Gładka powierzchnia zdolnego do wielodotyku ClickPada (około 10 x 6,2 cm) ułatwia ślizganie się palców. Podkładka reaguje również na wejścia w narożnikach. Ma krótki skok i wyraźny punkt nacisku. Innym substytutem myszy jest TrackPoint, który umożliwia dość precyzyjne sterowanie wskaźnikiem myszy. Gładkie klawisze myszy oferują wyraźny punkt nacisku.

Ekran dotykowy (do dziesięciu punktów dotyku) szybko reaguje na polecenia. Można go obsługiwać zarówno palcami, jak i dołączonym do zestawu rysikiem Asusa (SA201H, MPP 2.0). Ten ostatni dobrze leży w dłoni, a końcówka pióra gładko sunie po ekranie. Piórko trzyma się magnetycznie na prawej stronie pokrywy.

Notebook posiada trzy specyficzne dla producenta profile wydajności ("Performance Mode", "Balanced Mode", "Whisper Mode"), między którymi można się przełączać za pomocą kombinacji klawiszy "Fn" + "F". Testy zostały przeprowadzone przy aktywnym profilu "Balanced Mode". Profil "Performance Mode" nie powoduje wzrostu wydajności.

Na stronie Core i7-1260Pprocesor (Alder Lake) zawiera cztery rdzenie wydajnościowe (Hyperthreading, od 2,1 do 4,7 GHz) i osiem rdzeni wydajnościowych (bez Hyperthreadingu, od 1,5 do 3,4 GHz). W sumie daje to 16 logicznych rdzeni CPU

Test wielowątkowy benchmarku Cinebench R15 jest przetwarzany z częstotliwością taktowania w dolnym zakresie Turbo (rdzenie P: 2,2, do 3,3 GHz, rdzenie E: 1,8 do 1,9 GHz). Test jednowątkowy jest przeprowadzany przy taktowaniu od 1,7 do 4,2 GHz (rdzenie P) i od 400 MHz do 3,3 GHz (rdzenie E). W trybie akumulatorowym częstotliwości taktowania są niemal równe

Spojrzenie na tabele porównawcze pokazuje: Core i7 generalnie pozostaje poniżej swoich możliwości. Jeżeli interesuje nas B2 Flip, lepszym wyborem może być tańszy model z Core i5 (ta sama liczba rdzeni i skład co w 1260P), gdyż Core i7 nie potrafi wykorzystać jego minimalnie wyższych częstotliwości taktowania.

Po pierwszym uruchomieniu pętli CB15 następuje spadek taktowania i podcięcie zegarów bazowych. Innymi słowy, Turbo jest mało lub wcale nie wykorzystywane. Profil "Performance Mode" nie powoduje żadnej poprawy.
