Test Asus K50In

Według Asusa model K50IN to laptop wielozadaniowy, bez przesadnych fajerwerków, ale dostarczający przemieszczającym się użytkownikom dobrej rozrywki dzięki obrazowi i dźwiękowi jak w kinie. Opis ten jest oczywiście trochę podkoloryzowany, ale w rzeczywistości notebook ten wypadł lepiej, niż się spodziewaliśmy.

Obudowa

Asus wypuszcza laptopy tak podobne do siebie, że powoli staje się to nudne - zarówno same laptopy jak i opisywanie ich. Cechy charakterystyczne tych notebooków to dopasowana do matrycy formatu 16:9 szeroka ale dość krótka jednostka zasadnicza, której wierzchnia obudowa jest wykończona czarnym, lśniącym lakierem (przyjrzawszy się K50IN lepiej, dostrzeżemy że ciemny kolor nie jest jednolity, a znajduje się tam prosty wzór). Narożnikom nadano zaokrąglony kształt, wskutek czego cały notebook wydaje się obły, a przez to jakiś taki bezpłciowy (w porównaniu do wyrazistych, masywnych ThinkPadów na przykład).

Wbrew pozorom Asus K50IN okazał się solidnym, dobrze wykonanym notebookiem. Jego obudowa jest naszym zdaniem zaskakująco spójna i konkretna. Trzymanie w powietrzu jednorącz za przedni róg znosi znakomicie, bez stęknięcia. Obudowa nie skrzypi nawet wówczas, kiedy użytkownik się na niej wyżywa – nie robią na niej wrażenia próby wyginania na bokach czy naduszania od góry lub od dołu. Delikatne luzy przejawiały w testowanym egzemplarzu tylko napęd optyczny oraz pokrywa akumulatora (który jest schowany w rzadko ostatnio widywany sposób we wnęce na spodzie obudowy).

Bardzo dobrze funkcjonują szerokie zawiasy, które stanowią stabilne oparcie dla panoramicznego ekranu. Ten ostatni można odchylić maksymalnie do kąta około 140 stopni – przydałoby się, by dało się bardziej, ale nie jest źle. Obudowa ekranu wykazała się bardzo dużą odpornością na wyginanie boczne jak i po przekątnej.

Twierdzimy, że generalnie Asus robi ostatnio laptopy na jedno kopyto, ale we wzornictwie K50IN można dostrzec niuans odróżniający go od innych notebooków tej firmy. Chodzi o drewnopodobny panel za klawiaturą. Nie jest on może efektowny, ale posiada miłą w dotyku fakturę i naszym zdaniem cały pulpit tego laptopa mógłby być taki. Faktem jest, że powierzchnia górnej części obudowy (a także wieko) mocno się palcuje, ale nie tak szpetnie jak lakierowana obudowa laptopów niektórych innych marek.

W obliczu dobrego wrażenia ogólnego na dalszy plan schodzi drobny mankament w postaci krzywo spasowanego wyłącznika komputera.

W przeciwieństwie do podobnych modeli Asusa K50IN nie wydaje się przesadnie ciężki. I rzeczywiście – należy wręcz do najlżejszych laptopów z ekranem 15,6”, gdyż jego waga z akumulatorem wynosi około 2,6 kg. Plusem z tej samej kategorii jest niewielki, poręczny i lekki zasilacz.

Błyszcząca ramka przeszkadza w oglądaniu czy odczytywaniu treści z ekranu.

Osprzęt

Klawiatura jest nowego typu o klawiszach zgrabnego kroju i przy tym dość płaskich. Nie mielibyśmy nic przeciwko, żeby Asus pozostał przy takich na dłużej.  

Rozmieszczenie klawiszy jest klasyczne z tym zastrzeżeniem, że prawy klawisz nawigacyjny jest częścią bloku numerycznego a nie zasadniczego.

Na klawiaturze pisze się dość wygodnie i szybko, a jej drobnym mankamentem może się okazać nieco większa od przeciętnej hałaśliwość. Nie do końca ergonomiczne jest też wyprofilowanie płytek, których powierzchnia jest mocno wklęsła, co przeszkadza nieco w sprawnym przenoszeniu palców z klawisza na klawisz.

Można także dostrzec uginanie się klawiatury, głównie w środkowej części. Jako że same klawisze stawiają dość duży opór i przy naciśnięciu wyczuwa się wyraźnie ich sprężystość, nie wpływa to niekorzystnie na komfort pisania.

Gładzik firmy Elan ma jakby woskowaną powierzchnię usianą drobnymi otworkami (jest ich w sumie 231). Główne funkcje wypełnia dobrze, kiedy już się go ujarzmi i rozezna w jego możliwościach.

Chybionym pomysłem jest konieczność przewijania (scroll) dwoma palcami naraz. Kłopot w tym, ze osoba praworęczna zazwyczaj wykonuje przewijanie palcem środkowym, żeby wskazującym móc pukać w tabliczkę. Tymczasem w w przypadku rozwiązania Elan przychodzi albo obsługiwać gładzik dwiema dłońmi, albo jeździć po "rolce" kciukiem i palcem środkowym, a pukać wskazującym - średnio to się sprawdza w praktyce. Jeżeli chodzi o technikę, najlepiej trzymać jeden z palców w miejscu a poruszać góra/dół drugim (nie trzeba wcale jeździć obydwoma). Nie można niestety zmienić ustawienia na przewijanie jednym palcem.  

Feler mniejszego kalibru to pobrzęk dający się słyszeć przy pukaniu w tabliczkę.

Przyciski towarzyszące są twarde, a skoro przy używaniu tabliczki dotykowej w roli urządzenia wskazującego trzeba z nich korzystać, w przypadku dłuższej pracy boleśnie dostają w kość przeguby w palcach.

Asus K50In

Testowany Asus K50IN otrzymał matrycę firmy AUO podświetlaną diodami LED, której przekątna to 15,6", a rozdzielczość - 1366x768 pikseli.
 
Wytwarzany przez nią obraz jest jasny, gdyż przy maksymalnym podświetleniu najwyższa wartość luminancji przekracza 220 cd/m², a średnia - 200 cd/m².  
 
Problem w tym, że obraz jest wyraźnie ziarnisty. Przy patrzeniu pod kątem w płaszczyźnie pionowej widać ten efekt bardzo wyraźnie. Pogarsza on nieco czytelność prezentowanych treści i postrzeganą przez użytkownika ostrość obrazu.

Odwzorowanie kolorów jest dość przyzwoite, jeżeli chodzi o ich nasycenie na ustawieniach domyślnych. Barwy są żywsze niż w porównywanym Compaku 610, czyli laptopie zbliżonej klasy. Trzeba jednak odnotować, że obraz jest bardzo przecieplony, co powoduje, że biel jest nieco rudawa (przy minimalnej jasności obrazu patrzy się na nią z niesmakiem). Co do czerni - trudno ją właściwie tak nazwać. Nie podobna dostrzec kolor godny tej nazwy nawet przy patrzeniu idealnie na wprost. Przy niewielkim zadarciu lub opuszczeniu głowy "czarne" tło robi się prawie całkowicie siwe. Kąty widzenia również nie są mocną stroną tej matrycy, którą ogółem oceniliśmy dość nisko.

Osiągi

Testowana przez nas wersja K50IN miała na wyposażeniu podstawowy w tym laptopie procesor Pentium Dual-Core T4200. Niniejsza recenzja jest kolejną okazją do stwierdzenia, że nie ma dużej różnicy wydajności między nim a Core 2 Duo T6400. Szczególnie w zastosowaniach domowych, do których stworzony jest laptop Asusa. Jak przystało na Pentium DC, T4200 ma bowiem pamięć buforową L2 ograniczoną do 1 MB. Poza tym jest to normalny Penryn, podobnie jak T6400 powstający w technologii 45 nm, o FSB na poziomie 800 MHz.

Karta GeForce G 102 M to według Nvidii najbardziej oszczędny układ do laptopów dysponujący własną pamięcią. Wydziela dużo mniej ciepła i pobiera w stanie spoczynku sporo mniej energii niż choćby GeForce 9200M GS. Jej wydajność jest mocno ograniczona, choćby ze względu na szerokość szyny pamięci (64-bitowa) i częstotliwość pamięci (400 MHz DDR2), co w efekcie daje niską przepustowość (6,4 GB/s). Nie pomaga fakt, że karta ta posiada aż 512 MB pamięci do swojej dyspozycji. Jej wydajność kształtuje się na poziomie zbliżonym do ATI HD 3200 (zintegrowana) i GF 8400M GS (samodzielna).

Miło jest użytkować laptop tak mało hałaśliwy jak Asus K50IN. Docenia się brak uciążliwości z tej strony, a wiadomo, że słuch trzeba szanować. Co ciekawe, wentylator pracuje praktycznie bez przerwy. Powodowany przez niego szum ma jednak neutralną, niską tonację. Dzięki temu odgłos pracy komputera znajduje się tuż przy progu ludzkiej słyszalności.
 
Podczas pracy z aplikacjami biurowymi czy korzystaniu z internetu użytkownik K50IN odczuwa więc praktycznie pełen komfort.  Co jeszcze lepsze jednak, laptop Asusa nie staje się bardziej hałaśliwy, kiedy przychodzi mu pracować z pełnym obciążeniem.

Ciepło

Generalnie obudowa jest przy normalnej pracy stosunkowo chłodna, ale po dłuższym użytkowaniu w dość wysokiej, letniej temperaturze (25 stopni Celsjusza) dość mocno i nieprzyjemnie (39-40 stopni) rozgrzewał się środkowy fragment tylnej spodniej części notebooka. Znajduje się tam wylot powietrza z układu chłodzenia, który nagrzewa także sąsiadującą część pokrywy ekranu.

Oprócz standardowego w niższej temperaturze Asus K50IN przeszedł u nas dodatkowo wymagający test z obciążeniem w dość ekstremalnej temperaturze otoczenia (27°C). Poważna przeprawa, tj. kilkugodzinne działanie kompletu sprawdzianów SPECperfview, spowodowała dość drastyczne nagrzanie się obudowy w pobliżu ujścia gorącego powietrza z układu chłodzenia (ponad 45°C na spodzie i 41,5°C na wierzchu), przy czym czujnik na karcie grafiki wskazał maksymalnie 84°C.

Głośniki

Głośniczki Altec Lansing z SRS Premium Sound grają całkiem przyjemnie... tyle że po podniesieniu przedniej części notebooka. Są one bowiem umieszczone na spodzie przedniej krawędzi obudowy i podłoże tłumi nieco wydobywający się z nich dźwięk.

Wydajność akumulatora

Model K50In otrzymał stosunkowo niewielki (mieści się we wnęce wygospodarowanej w przedniej części obudowy) akumulator 6-komorowy o pojemności 4400 mAh (46 Wh). Z tego względu osiągane czasy pracy nie są szczególnie wyśrubowane pomimo zastosowania w notebooku dość słabych podzespołów i matrycy podświetlanej diodami. Użytkownik może liczyć, że zasilany z baterii komputer będzie działał około 2,5, a maksymalnie do 3 h.

Podsumowanie

Pozory często mylą i Asus K50IN okazał się wbrew naszym przewidywaniom całkiem ciekawym notebookiem. Wysoko oceniliśmy głównie stosunkowo lekką a jednocześnie solidną obudowę (trzeba jednak pamiętać, że jest ona mało praktyczna za względu na połyskliwe wykończenie). Laptop ten cechuje się również dobrą kulturą pracy. Największa jego wada to słaba matryca (mimo podświetlenia LED), na której mocno uwidocznia się efekt ziarnistości. Podzespoły K50IN nie imponują wydajnością, ale czas pracy na zasilaniu akumulatorowym okazał się mimo to raczej krótki.
