However, for that cost, do keep in mind you can only expect a year of support, plus only around four Android security updates in that year. This tough package definitely speaks to those in tough working conditions, perhaps with the thought in mind to use the reverse charge option to juice up a laptop or other smartphone. Although the cameras on this rugged phone once again seemed to receive more thought than other useful functions, at the very least and even if the results are a bit over-saturated and you don't care about taking night-scene photos, it's definitely okay for daytime work related use.

I definitely have reservations about the Doogee DK10, but it is nothing that isn’t common for smaller manufacturers. If anything, Doogee does a better job than most by giving the DK10 solid performance and excellent build quality. I fear not getting many software updates. However, if you’re comfortable taking a chance, the DK10 offers better cameras and functionality than most rugged phones without the added bulk that usually comes with them. All told, the DK10 is a well-built device, and if you can get it for a good price, it is worth picking up. The Doogee DK10 trims some of the fat from other rugged devices by offering a smaller battery but not sacrificing its build quality.

While the styling of this device is not to everyone’s taste, the package of performance SoC, a high-quality display and lots of memory and storage makes for a compelling device. It’s one of the few rugged designs that might work as a daily driver since it's not much larger or heavier than an ordinary phone. The only caveats are the battery capacity and life, which aren’t ideal if you intend to leave civilisation for any period. And the extent to which the camera cluster sticks out is annoying. Those points aside, and accepting that most Chinese phones ignore Widevine video encryption requirements, the DK10 is an elegant piece of hardware that could be ideal for those who work outdoors.

The pricing is also justified considering all that it provides. Its only real competition is the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra which provides almost everything this smartphone has but at a much higher price.
