Test Lenovo ThinkPad T410

ThinkPad T410 to laptop z matową matrycą formatu 16:10. Jako taki jest dobrem rzadkim i poszukiwanym. Czy jego wysoka cena jest jednak uzasadniona? Po zapoznaniu się z naszą recenzją odpowiedź na to pytanie powinna być łatwiejsza.

Obudowa

Parafrazując Henry’ego Forda – ThinkPada można otrzymać w każdym kolorze,  pod warunkiem, że będzie to kolor czarny. Nie inaczej jest z T410. Masywną obudowę w różnych odcieniach czerni urozmaicają tylko zwyczajowe dodatki jak srebrne zawiasy, logo w narożniku klapy i pulpitu. Do tego oczywiście czerwony grzybek w centrum klawiatury i niebieskie guziki ThinkVantage i Enter.  Wszystkie powierzchnie mają praktyczne matowe wykończenie.  

Waga 2,5 kg to sporo jak na rozmiar 14 cali, ale częściowo usprawiedliwia ją wystająca z tyłu 9-komorowa bateria. Ma tu swój udział również bardzo solidne wykonanie obudowy. Jednostka zasadnicza tylko punktowo i w pomijalnym stopniu ustępuje pod silnym naciskiem. Jej jedynym słabym punktem jest jedna z różnic w stosunku do poprzednika (T400). To klapka na spodzie dająca dostęp np. do pamięci operacyjnej. Niestety pokrywa ta rusza się trochę w swoich ramach.

Klapa daje więcej powodów do krytyki. Można ją ugiąć na środku, na szczęście jednak nie wpływa to na wyświetlany obraz. Gorzej jest z ramką matrycy. Jest niezbyt pewnie umocowana, co sprawia, że można właściwie z każdej strony odgiąć ją paznokciem, a ściskanie jej pozostawia ślady na wyświetlaczu.  Użytkownicy, którzy mieli do czynienia z T400, dostrzegą pewnie, że u jego następcy nie ma już nieproporcjonalnie grubej ramki po lewej stronie, ponieważ ekran został zamontowany prawie idealnie pośrodku.

Zamknięty laptop jest dobrze chroniony przed dostaniem się do środka przypadkowych obiektów. Odpowiadają za to dwa haczyki mechanizmu ryglującego i zachodząca z przodu na korpus klapa typu clamshell. By użyć znajdującego się na prawym skraju przedniej krawędzi zamka zwalniającego zatrzaski i otworzyć laptop, potrzebne są obie ręce. Zawiasy pracują solidnie i nie wydają niepokojących dźwięków. By dorównać standardom serii ThinkPad, mogłyby być jednak jeszcze mocniejsze. Pozwalają one na otwarcie ekranu nawet o ponad 180 stopni.

Rozmieszczenie i liczba portów to kolejna różnica pomiędzy T410 a T400. Wielość złączy to zdecydowana zaleta. Oprócz ExpressCard 34, eSATA, FireWire, VGA, LAN, DisplayPort i 4 USB znalazło się miejsce nawet na wyprowadzenie rzadko już używanego modemu. Trochę gorzej jednak z rozlokowaniem portów. Przeszkadzać może zwłaszcza kabel podłączony do eSATA umieszczonego po prawej stronie, przed napędem DVD (ten siedzi w zatoce Ultra Bay). Zaraz obok znajduje się połączone gniazdo słuchawek i mikrofonu. Pusta przestrzeń na początku lewej ścianki to klapka dająca dostęp do dysku twardego, a do jej demontażu wystarczy odkręcić jedną śrubkę.

Nie zapominajmy, że na spodzie kryje się złącze stacji dokującej, a pod akumulatorem - gniazdo na kartę SIM, podłączone do będącego na wyposażeniu modemu UMTS.

Klawiatura przeszła delikatną ewolucję. Za dobry pomysł należy uznać powiększone w pionie klawisze Esc i Del. W dwóch rzędach klawiszy między nimi znalazło się miejsce na panel, który - oprócz wyłącznika komputera i klawisza dostępu do konsoli ThinkVantage - zawiera również praktyczne (podświetlane) guziki do regulacji dźwięku. Pozostała część klawiatury to już raczej tradycyjne dla ThinkPadów rozplanowanie, z Fn zamienionym miejscami z lewym Ctrl, czy wypukłymi klawiszami kierunkowymi.

Nic nie mogę zarzucić solidności osadzenia klawiatury. Również jej charakterystyka pracy ze sprężystym ale i łatwo wyczuwalnym skokiem zasługuje na pochwałę. Szybkie i energiczne pisanie nie jest jednak ciche.

Konstruktorzy starali się zmniejszyć do minimum odstępy między klawiszami, by ograniczyć przedostawanie się nieczystości. Nie mogło też zabraknąć lampki oświetlającej i zabezpieczenia przed zalaniem, z mającymi ujście na spodzie komputera kanalikami odpływowymi.

Pokryta grudkami powierzchnia gładzika poszła z duchem czasu i oprócz świetnych właściwości użytkowych oferuje sprawnie działający zestaw funkcji Multitouch. Palce użytkownika nie będą miały też oporów przed używaniem klawiszy myszki. Mają one długi, miękki i bezgłośny skok.

Nic nie stoi na przeszkodzie, by jako urządzenie wskazujące używać czerwony manipulator pomiędzy klawiszami G, H i B. By podwyższyć komfort, przeprojektowano przyciski trackpointa.

Obraz

Matowa matryca ThinkPada T410 ma podwyższoną rozdzielczość (1440x900 pikseli) i format 16:10. Zapewnia to odpowiednią pionową przestrzeń roboczą, tak pożądaną w zastosowaniach biurowych.

Równomierność podświetlenia wydaje się być zadowalająca. Poziom kontrastu czy odwzorowanie kolorów stoją natomiast na przeciętnym poziomie. Niezła jasność (uzyskana dzięki podświetleniu LED) i matowa powierzchnia ekranu zapewniają duży komfort w operowaniu laptopem na świeżym powietrzu.

Nie wyróżniają się kąty widzenia i zwłaszcza w płaszczyźnie pionowej dość szybko pojawiają się zniekształcenia obrazu.

Osiągi

Intel Core i7-620M to obecnie najmocniejsza jednostka Arrandale. Oprócz wysokich zegarów (2,66–3,33 GHz) wyróżnia się też 4 MB pamięci L2. Do tego dochodzi pełen wachlarz instrukcji Intela.

W teście 3DMark06 dla CPU jednostka ta jako jedyny Arrandale przekracza granicę 3000 punktów. W jednordzeniowym teście Cinebench wygrywa z niżej taktowanym 4-rdzeniowym Core i7-720QM, który jest jednak lepszy w wariancie wielowątkowym. Warto pamiętać, że w laptopie formatu 14” lepiej nie przekraczać 35 watów TDP, którymi legitymuje się i7-620M.

Do procesora użytkownik otrzymuje w zestawie podzespoły znane już z testu większego T510. Bardzo wydajny dysk twardy Seagate o prędkości 7200 obr/min zapewnia średnie transfery na poziomie ponad 80 MB/s.

Karta graficzna Nvidia Quadro NVS 3100 to siostrzany model GeForce’a 210M. Nie radzi sobie za dobrze z nowymi grami, za to z pewnością pomoże w obróbce materiału wideo.

Jeszcze mniej słyszalny jest on przy niewymagających zastosowaniach (33,3 dB), akurat jednak w tym trybie pracy znajdą się jeszcze cichsze urządzenia. Winowajcą jest tu - bardziej niż wiatrak - szybki dysk twardy.

Świetną w subiektywnym odczuciu kulturę pracy obniża trochę dość wysoki ton dźwięków wytwarzanych przez wentylator.

W relatywnie wysokiej temperaturze otoczenia (24°C) obudowa obciążonego laptopa rozgrzała się wyraźnie po lewej stronie. Najcieplejszy punkt znalazł się na środku spodu laptopa, a zmierzona temperatura wyniosła tu 42,2°C. Wartości w miejscu oparcia nadgarstków są jednak niższe.

Lenistwo wiatraczka może mieć pewien wpływ na dość wysokie temperatury osiągane przez podzespoły. FurMark i Prime95 rozgrzały grafikę do 89°C a rdzenie procesora - odpowiednio do 95 i 96°C.

Słuchanie muzyki z zestawu stereo nie należy w T410 do przyjemności. Niezła maksymalna głośność jest niwelowana przez pojawiające się zniekształcenia dźwięku. Głośniczki są jednak w pełni wystarczające do odtwarzania głosu w komunikatorach.

Wydajność akumulatora

94 Wh nominalnej pojemności w dziewięciu komorach czynią ThinkPada T410 bardzo mobilnym. Na zasilaniu akumulatorowym potrafi on pracować przynajmniej dwie godziny, a w razie potrzeby wytrzymuje nawet prawie osiem. Świetny jest również rezultat przy korzystaniu z Internetu za pomocą WiFi – dokładnie 5 godzin i 28 minut.

Podsumowanie

T410 to prawdziwy ThinkPad. Przede wszystkim bardzo solidny i bardzo praktyczny. Nie mogło zabraknąć matowej matrycy czy zapewniającej wysoki komfort pisania klawiatury. Cieszy również akumulator tak duży, że aż wystający z tyłu obudowy, i bogactwo złączy, które jednak mogłyby być rozlokowane w bardziej ergonomiczny sposób.

Bardzo wydajnej konfiguracji można wybaczyć wysokie temperatury podzespołów w stresie. Zarazem należy się jednak domagać wzmocnienia ramki okalającej ekran. Ten szczegół trochę psuje bowiem świetne ogólne wrażenia płynące z obcowania z Lenovo T410.

Laptop posiadający w testowej konfiguracji m.in. modem 3G jest bardzo wydajny. Jednak suma, jaką życzy sobie za niego Lenovo, skłania przed podjęciem decyzji o zakupie przynajmniej do bliższego przyjrzenia się ofercie konkurencji spod znaku HP czy Della.
