Test HP Compaq Presario CQ57

Jaką mocą obliczeniową musi rozporządzać laptop, by radzić sobie z podstawowymi zastosowaniami w codziennym użytkowaniu? Według HP niewielką, gdyż producent modelu Compaq Presario CQ57 (15,6") wyposażył jedną z jego wersji w energooszczędny, spotykany najczęściej w netbookach układ AMD E-450. Głównym czynnikiem zachęcającym do zakupu tejże jest niska cena.

Obudowa

Wyjąwszy kolorystykę, Compaq Presario CQ57 prawie nie różni się z wyglądu od modeli HP 630 i HP 635. Jego obudowa jest czarna i tym samym przedstawia sobą dość przygnębiający widok. Zaokrąglone krawędzie i brak błyszczących ozdobników świadczą o tym, że dla konstruktorów najbardziej liczyła się funkcjonalność. 

Jednostka zasadnicza znosi silny nacisk, nie odkształcając się przy tym przesadnie i nie trzeszcząc. Stabilnie zachowuje się nawet okolica napędu optycznego.

Negatywnie trzeba natomiast ocenić obudowę ekranu. Zastrzeżenia dotyczą sztywności tego elementu; ramka i plecy ekranu się uginają.

Zawiasy trzymają ciasno i robią dość korzystne wrażenie. Nie zapobiegają jednak kiwaniu się ekranu na wypadek wstrząsów. Pokrywy nie można otworzyć jedną ręką.

Testowanemu egzemplarzowi nie można było wiele zarzucić pod względem jakości spasowania. Niektóre szczeliny okazały się trochę nierówne, ale łączenia elementów były przeważnie dokładne. Biorąc pod uwagę to, że HP CQ57 reprezentuje klasę najtańszych laptopów, można być zadowolonym. Trochę droższe Lenovo G575 prezentuje podobny poziom.

By możliwe było oferowanie omawianego laptopa w niskiej cenie, producent musiał zaoszczędzić na interfejsach. Umieszczono je na ściankach bocznych obudowy. Wśród nich są trzy porty USB 2.0 (brak nowszego USB 3.0), a zamiast HDMI czy DisplayPort mamy tylko wyjście VGA umożliwiające przesyłanie analogowego sygnału wideo.

Rozmieszczenie złączy jest podobne jak w modelach HP 630 i 635 (z tą różnicą, że tamte modele posiadają HDMI). Poza dwoma USB znajdującymi się bardzo blisko siebie na prawym boku porty są dobrze dostępne i rozstawiono je w wystarczających odległościach od siebie. Często zajęte w trybie stacjonarnym wyjście VGA i gniazdo zasilania umieszczono blisko tylnej krawędzi.

Osprzęt

Laptopy HP miały dawniej wygodne klawiatury. Model CQ57 otrzymał tradycyjną klawiaturę bez odrębnego bloku numerycznego. Zasadnicze klawisze to kwadratowe płytki o boku 15 mm. Są one rozmieszczone bez większych odstępów. Są jednak odseparowane dzięki odpowiedniemu wyprofilowaniu; ich górna część jest nico węższa, niż podstawa. Niefajne jest to, że klawisze strzałek góra/dół zajmują razem tyle miejsca, co jeden normalny klawisz. 

Autorowi nie spodobała się szwankująca stabilność klawiatury. Uginała się ona mocno szczególnie w górnej części. 

Klawisze wymagają mocnego naciskania. Spacja działa dobrze na całej powierzchni. Skok klawiszy jest krótki. Możliwe jest szybkie pisanie i to bez popełniania wielu błędów. Klik mógłby być cichszy. 

Gładzik odróżnia się od sąsiednich obszarów pulpitu roboczego, choć tabliczka nie znajduje się w obniżeniu. Przyrząd Synaptics ma świetne właściwości ślizgowe i wykazuje niezłą precyzję. Jego wymiary to 53 x 93 mm; nie należy zatem do największych. Płytka dotykowa jest czuła po brzegi. Funkcje dotyku wielopunktowego można konfigurować za pomocą oprogramowania. 

Gorzej prezentują się przyciski gładzika. Stawiają one mocny opór, więc wydają się twarde, a do tego ich naciskanie powoduje głośny klik. Trzeba starać się naciskać je możliwie centralnie, gdyż przy nasikaniu na obrzeżach trudno je wyczuć. 

Gładzik można wyłączyć poprzez dwukrotne naciśnięcie punktu w lewym górnym rogu płytki.

Obraz

W HP CQ57 zastosowano matrycę o przekątnej 15,6 cala i rozdzielczości 1366 x 768 pikseli. Niestety matryca jest błyszcząca (w przeciwieństwie do modeli HP 630/635, w których zastosowano wyświetlacz o matowej powierzchni).

Średnia luminancja przy maksymalnej intensywności podświetlenia, 176 cd/m², nie przedstawia się okazale. Do pracy w pomieszczeniach z reguły powinna być wystarczająca, tym bardziej, że na akumulatorze nie staje się niższa. Konkurent, Lenovo G575, wypada pod tym względem znacznie lepiej, gdyż w jego przypadku ten parametr ma wartość około 225 cd/m².

Matryca produkcji Samsunga nie jest żadną rewelacją także w innych kategoriach. Jasność czerni jest zbyt wysoka (1,1 cd/m²), a kontrast jest niski (175:1). Trzeba jednak zastrzec, że w tanich laptopach nie są stosowane matryce dobrej jakości.

Niski poziom luminancji i błyszcząca powierzchnia każą przypuszczać, że matryca HP CQ57 sprawdza się nieszczególnie w użytkowaniu pod gołym niebem. Tak jest w istocie i, jak się okazało, refleksy często przeszkadzają, ograniczając czytelność obrazu. Stosunkowo nieźle jest w cieniu, ale i tak omawiany laptop najlepiej czuje się w czterech ścianach.

Co typowe dla matrycy TN, kąty widzenia w pionie są bardzo wąskie. Niewielka zmiana pozycji powoduje znaczące pogorszenie jakości obrazu. Co do kątów w poziomie, to od około 30 stopni odchylenia widoczna była duża inwersja kolorów.

Osiągi

W testowanym modelu HP CQ57 zastosowano procesor AMD E-450. Ten układ nazwany APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) jest przeznaczony zasadniczo do netbooków i nettopów, ale trafia też do większych laptopów. 

Procesor ten jest taktowany z częstotliwością 1,65 GHz, a więc jest trochę szybszy od starszego modelu E-350 (1,6 GHz). TDP wynosi 18 W. Jego architektura została zoptymalizowana pod kątem jak najlepszego oszczędzania energii i ograniczenia zajmowanego miejsca. Z tego powodu ta dwurdzeniowa jednostka prezentuje bardzo słabą wydajność obliczeniową. 

Z procesorem zintegrowany jest układ graficzny Radeon HD 6320. Posiada on 80 procesorów strumieniowych. Taktowanie GPU to 500 MHz i może być zwiększane do 600 MHz w trybie Turbo. 

Moduł pamięci RAM DDR3 4 GB firmy Nanya jest taktowany z częstotliwością 667 MHz (efektywnie 1333 MHz). Jest jeszcze drugie, wolne gniazdo pamięci, pozwalające rozszerzyć RAM do 8 GB. 

W teście jednowątkowym aplikacji Cinebench R10 (w wersji 64-bitowej) omawiany laptop uzyskał 1173 pkt. Jest to mało, nawet jak na laptop do niewymagających zastosowań biurowych. HP 630 z procesorem Pentium P6200 uzyskał w tym samym teście 2987 pkt., czyli 2,5-krotnie więcej. W teście wielowątkowym wygląda to podobnie. HP CQ57 zdobył w nim 2198 pkt. Z kolei w teście Cinebench R11.5 uzyskał 0,62 pkt. Różnice w porównaniu z odrobinę niżej taktowanym AMD E-350 są w testach syntetycznych znikome.

Wydajność systemu została zmierzona w teście PCMark Vantage, w którym omawiany laptop uzyskał 2471 pkt. To wynik o około 5% lepszy od Lenovo G575 z AMD E-350. Netbook z procesorem Atom N570 (Asus R051PX) zaliczył go z wynikiem 1742 pkt. HP 630 z procesorem Pentium P6200 uzyskał natomiast 3598 pkt.

W codziennym użytkowaniu czynnikiem ograniczającym szybkość działania jest słaby procesor. Podczas przeglądania stron internetowych, instalowania programów i uruchamiania aplikacji opóźnienia w wykonywaniu zadań są w porównaniu z laptopem wyposażonym w Pentium P6200 nie tylko mierzalne, ale i odczuwalne. By możliwe było płynne odtwarzanie filmu 1080p, należy znaleźć odpowiedni kodek, by dekoder UVD3 przejął na siebie przetwarzanie materiału wideo.

Wydajność układu graficznego jest stosunkowo dobra, podobnie jak w innych APU AMD. Wynik w teście 3DMark06, 2452 pkt., jest znacznie lepszy od osiągniętego przez laptop HP 630 z układem Intel GMA HD (1396 pkt.). Jest też o około 20% lepszy od osiągnięć laptopów z procesorem AMD E-350 i Radeonem HD 6310 (dzięki funkcji Turbo, która zwiększa taktowanie GPU z 500 do 600 MHz).

Samsung Spinpoint M8 to 2,5-calowy dysk twardy o pojemności 500 GB, prędkości 5400 obr/min, posiadający 8 MB pamięci podręcznej. Dysk jest jednotalerzowy, co powinno korzystnie wpłynąć na transfery. 

Tak jest w istocie, gdyż maksymalny odczyt w HD Tune wyniósł 108,7 MB/s. Średnia powyżej 80 MB/s to też dobry wynik. Modele HP 630 i 635 miały w tym teście gorsze wyniki. Nieoczekiwanie długi okazał się natomiast czas dostępu do danych (23,6 ms).

Z całkowitej powierzchni dyskowej 15 GB zostało zajęte przez partycję odzyskiwania, a 4 GB zajmują narzędzia HP Tools.

W Anno 2070 wydajność jest mierzona we wstępnej sekwencji pierwszej misji z wersji demo. W rozdzielczości 1024 x 768 i na niskich detalach uzyskano 27,8 kl/s. Były to jedyne ustawienia, na których dało się grać.

Podobna sytuacja miała miejsce w grze FIFA 12. Korzystając z najniższych ustawień detali i rozdzielczości 800 x 600, uzyskano 29 kl/s, przy czym było widać delikatne przycinanie. Podczas pokazywania powtórek może być jeszcze gorzej. 

We wbudowanym benchmarku gry DiRT 3, przy użyciu bardzo niskich ustawień środowiska graficznego oraz rozdzielczości 800 x 600, uzyskano 25,9 kl/s.

Laptop z procesorem AMD E-450 nie nadaje się więc do nowych gier. Często nawet radykalne obniżenie detali i rozdzielczości nie zapewnia możliwości pogrania. HP 630, laptop z procesorem P6200 Intela i starym układem graficznym GMA HD, radzi sobie jeszcze gorzej. Lepiej od rozwiązania AMD sprawdzają się dopiero zintegrowane grafiki Intela z procesorów z generacji Sandy Bridge.

Wpływ na otoczenie

Hałas

Laptop z ekranem 15-calowym i podzespołami netbooka powinien mieć praktycznie bezgłośne chłodzenie. Niestety myliłby się ktoś, kto uznałby to za pewnik. 

Wentylator HP CQ57 działa nawet w trakcie dłuższych przerw w zajętości podzespołów. Zarejestrowany poziom szumu, 32,3 dB, co prawda nie przeszkadzał, ale gdyby sterowanie wentylatorem było lepiej skonfigurowane, mógłby być niższy. Do tego jeszcze odgłosy pracy głowic dysku są dość donośne (do 34,1 dB).

Przy obciążeniu testem 3DMark06 prędkość obrotowa wentylatora się nie zmieniła. Dopiero uruchomienie jednocześnie testów aplikacji Prime95 i FurMark zamieniło stonowany szmer w donośny szum (maks. 38,5 dB). 

Problemem jest więc jedynie to, że wentylator działa podczas spoczynku CPU. Przyczyną tego stanu rzeczy jest domyślnie ustawiona opcja "Fan Always On" w BIOS-ie. Kiedy się ją wyłączy, omawiany laptop zachowuje się prawie bezgłośnie (zależy to od obciążenia podzespołów). Zdaniem autora nie jest to rozsądne rozwiązanie.

Ciepło

Dzięki zastosowaniu energooszczędnego układu APU temperatury robocze kształtują się na bardzo niskim poziomie. W teście bez obciążenia najwyższe temperatury obudowy zamknęły się w przedziale 19-26°C. Pod obciążeniem średnie temperatur maksymalnych dla spodu i wierzchu jednostki zasadniczej wyniosły około 26°C. Najwyższą wartość, 37,4°C, zmierzono w pobliżu wylotu powietrza z układu chłodzenia. Można więc bez przeszkód używać HP CQ57, kiedy spoczywa on na kolanach.

Temperatury podzespołów również okazały się niskie. W teście pełnego obciążenia temperatura rdzeni procesora AMD E-450 wzrosła z 43 do 59°C. Oznacza to, że nie powinno być problemów w trakcie letnich upałów, kiedy temperatury otoczenia są zwykle wyższe. Laptop HP wypada dużo lepiej od Lenovo G575, w którym procesor AMD E-350 rozgrzał się w teście ekstremalnym do 99°C przed wystąpieniem throttlingu CPU. 

Zasilacz omawianego laptopa również nie nagrzewał się przesadnie; zarejestrowano 29-39°C.

Głośniki

Malutki napis za klawiaturą sygnalizuje co prawda, że HP CQ57 posiada głośniki Altec Lansing, ale niewiele różnią się one od rozwiązań z konkurencyjnych laptopów. System audio przeniesiono prawdopodobnie bez modyfikacji z modeli HP 630/635. Na pochwałę zasługują przyzwoita głośność maksymalna i czyste odwzorowanie tonów wysokich. Tony niskie natomiast praktycznie nie istnieją. Wokale są wyraźne, ale nieco metaliczne. 

Wydajność akumulatora

Dzięki niewielkiemu zużyciu energii omawiany laptop uzyskuje długie czasy pracy na zasilaniu wewnętrznym. Choć akumulator ma niespecjalnie okazałą pojemność (47 Wh), wystarcza do osiągnięcia 7 h ciągłego działania przy spoczynku podzespołów (test czytelnika Battery Eater). W teście korzystania z internetu (luminancja na poziomie około 150 cd/m²) uzyskano 5 h. Odtwarzanie filmu z płyty DVD okazało się możliwe przez prawie 4 h.

Podobnie jak w innych laptopach, uzyskane czasy pracy mogłyby być na upartego jeszcze dłuższe, ale w myśl domyślnego ustawienia po osiągnięciu 9% stanu naładowania akumulatora następuje automatycznie hibernacja.

Poza kilkoma wadami tani laptop HP ma też cechy dodatnie. Jakość wykonania jest nie najgorsza. Znana z innych modeli tego samego producenta obudowa cechuje się przyzwoitą sztywnością, która szwankuje tylko na obszarze pokrywy ekranu. Pochwalić można klawiaturę i precyzję działania gładzika. 

Procesor AMD E-450 jest jednocześnie przekleństwem i błogosławieństwem. Ograniczone zapotrzebowanie na energię pozwala osiągać długie czasy pracy i przesądza o braku problemu z temperaturami. Grafika jest na tyle wydajna, by można było płynnie odtwarzać filmy.
