Test Dell Latitude E6510

Dell Latitude E6510 to nie laptop dla każdego. Szczególnie w wersji z matrycą Full HD o przekątnej 15,6”. Testowana konfiguracja miała dość bogate wyposażenie, z kartą grafiki Nvidia Quadro i 9-komorowym akumulatorem. Niniejszy artykuł to zapis wniosków wyciągniętych z obcowania z tym komputerem wysokiej klasy.

Obudowa

Dell Latitude E6510

Dell Latitude E6510 posiada kanciastą bryłę bez zaokrągleń. Przez to jego wygląd cechuje się topornością, ale to dobrze; w końcu narzędzia pracy nie mogą byś fikuśne. Taka delikatna optyczna siermiężność kojarzy się z solidnością. W przypadku E6510 to wizualne wrażenie jest jak najbardziej słuszne.

Pokrywa ekranu wykonana z stopów magnezu jest mianowicie bardzo sztywna. W czasie naciskania nie ugina się ani odrobinę, doskonale chroni matrycę. Także otwieranie jej poprzez chwycenie za jeden z rogów nie robi na niej najmniejszego wrażenia. Pokrywa ma kolor srebrny, a na jej matowej powierzchni nie pozostają odciski palców.

W sklepach dostępna jest najczęściej jedynie testowana wersja kolorystyczna, natomiast bezpośrednio u Della można za dopłatą zamówić pokrywę ekranu w kolorze czerwonym czy niebieskim. Według mnie standardowa, srebrna wersja najbardziej pasuje do charakteru tego modelu.

Ramka matrycy, choć wykonana z czarnego matowego tworzywa, a nie metalu, również jest wytrzymała. Jej uginanie się w czasie ściskania jest ledwo wyczuwalne przez palce. Umieszczone są w niej dwa nieruchome oczka (należące do dobrze działającego mechanizmu zamykającego), a także czujnik światła i kamera.

Metalowe zawiasy nie dość, że solidne, to bez problemów utrzymają ekran w zadanej pozycji. Pracują cicho i z odpowiednim oporem, a dzięki klasycznej konstrukcji umożliwiają odchylenie pokrywy o około 170 stopni.

Pulpit pod nadgarstki i otoczenie klawiatury wykonano z czarnego, matowego plastiku, na którym niewidoczne są ślady palców. Jest on sztywny, nie ugina się pod naciskiem.

Spód laptopa, podobnie jak pokrywę ekranu, wykonano z stopu magnezu, choć z powodu czarnego lakieru, którym jest pokryty, wygląda na plastikowy. W czasie ściskania ugina się zauważalnie jedynie w okolicach napędu optycznego. Feler ten nie jest jednak wielki i element ten - tak jak i cały notebook - można nazwać solidnym.

Mocowanie baterii jest nie do końca dopracowane, gdyż akumulator ma luzy i trochę się rusza. Jest to szczególnie niekorzystne zjawisko w przypadku baterii 9- komorowej. Wystaje ona z tyłu poza obrys obudowy, przez co jest bardziej narażona na różne wypadki. Tym samym powinna być szczególnie solidnie osadzona, a niestety nie jest.

W akumulatorze umieszczono 5 niebieskich diod i dotykowy przycisk. Po naciśnięciu tego ostatniego część kontrolek się zapala, dzięki czemu bez włączania komputera możemy się dowiedzieć, w jakim stopniu naładowana jest bateria.

Dell Latitude E6510 jest wyposażony w bardzo dużą liczbę złączy, zarówno starszych (jak PCMCIA) czy nowoczesnych (np. Display Port). Biorąc pod uwagę ich liczebność, są rozmieszczone bardzo sensownie. Te, których używamy rzadko lub z których nie wystają przewody w czasie użytkowania, umieszczono na bocznych ściankach, w pobliżu przedniej krawędzi. Natomiast najczęściej używane i te, z których wystają wtyczki, znalazły swoje miejsce na bokach przy tylnej ściance. Gniazdo zasilania, złącze D-SUB i LAN wreszcie umieszczono z tyłu, obok baterii. Z przodu nie ma jakichkolwiek złączy; na środku umieszczono jedynie przycisk mechanizmu zamykającego.

Do tego na spodzie znajduje się złącze stacji dokującej, pod akumulatorem - wejście na opcjonalny modem GSM, a na prawo od klawiatury - czytnik linii papilarnych.

Osprzęt

Klawiatura w Dellu Latitude E6510 posiada ergonomicznie rozmieszczone klawisze, z wydzielonymi i niepomniejszonymi kursorami. Denerwować może jedynie klawisz „Delete”, który nie leży w prawym górnym rogu, ale łatwo się do tego przyzwyczaić (szczególnie że posiada on niewielkie uwypuklenie, po którym łatwo go wyczuć). Po prawej stronie nie ma bloku numerycznego, co w modelu biznesowym wielu potencjalnych klientów może uznać za wadę.

W czasie pisania klawisze są ciche, ich skok jest miękki, niezbyt głęboki. Płytki mają klasyczny kształt z delikatnym wgłębieniem. Do tego klawiatura - podobnie jak pozostałe elementy Della - jest solidna i sztywna, dzięki czemu nie ugina się w czasie pisania.

To wszystko sprawia, że pisze się szybko i przyjemnie. Szkoda, że klawiatura nie jest podświetlana. Ta funkcja jest co prawda dostępna jako opcja, ale uważam, że w sprzęcie w tej cenie powinien to być standard.

Gładzik nie zachwyca tak jak klawiatura. Jest niezły, ale ma trochę zbyt gładką powierzchnię, przez co właściwości ślizgowe nie są najlepsze. Lepiej spisują się powierzchnie trochę bardziej szorstkie, na przykłada tak jak w Dellu Vostro 3500. Przyciski towarzyszące płytce są takie jak ona, czyli przeciętne. W miarę wygodne z dość sporym skokiem, za to niezbyt ciche.

Poza gładzikiem kursorem możemy sterować także za pomocą grzybka. Po przyzwyczajeniu jest to urządzenie o wysokiej precyzji. Do tego kursor można przesuwać szybciej niż za pomocą płytki dotykowej. Żeby go używać, nie trzeba odrywać rąk od klawiatury, ani zmieniać ich ułożenia. Znajdujące się tuż przed spacją przyciski są ciche. Nawet przy korzystaniu z gładzika wolałem używać ich a nie tych ułożonych niżej.

Testowany egzemplarz Della Latitude E6510 posiadał matrycę o rozdzielczości 1920x1080 pikseli. Przy długości przekątnej równej 15,6 cala wartość DPI jest bardzo wysoka i wynosi aż 144,8. Z tego powodu wszystkie wyświetlane elementy są bardzo małe. Żeby temu zaradzić, można powiększyć czcionki w systemie lub każdorazowo przybliżać obraz, jednak nie działa to idealnie i sporo programów ma z tym problem. W codziennych zastosowaniach - jak przeglądanie Internetu czy pisanie - jest to uciążliwe, szczególnie dla osób z wadami wzroku.

W zastosowaniach bardziej profesjonalnych - jak projektowanie, obróbka fotografii, muzyki, filmów czy programowanie - duża powierzchnia robocza jest bardzo przydatna, a wysoka wartość DPI nie przeszkadza. Ponieważ Latitude to raczej narzędzie pracy, taka wysoka rozdzielczość jest w nim nawet wskazana. Na szczęście klient nie jest pozostawiony bez wyboru. Jeśli preferuje niższą rozdzielczość, także może zdecydować się na E6510, ponieważ Dell oferuje w tym modelu również matryce o niższych rozdzielczościach (1600x900 i 1366x768 pikseli).

Wracając do panelu FullHD, podświetlenie diodami LED jest bardzo silne, dzięki czemu maksymalna jasność to ponad 360 cd/m2. W połączeniu z czernią na poziomie 0,6 cd/m2 daje to bardzo wysoki kontrast, przekraczający wartość 600:1. Wraz z bardzo dobrym (jak na matrycę montowaną w notebooku) odwzorowaniem kolorów uzyskiwany obraz jest soczysty i wysokiej jakości. Na pierwszy rzut oka widać bardzo dużą różnicę na jego korzyść względem paneli stosowanych w tanich konsumenckich laptopach. Dzięki niemu zdjęcia i filmy ogląda się ze znacznie większą przyjemnością.

Kąty widzenia to jedyny parametr tej matrycy, który jedynie trochę wybija się ponad przeciętność. W poziomie są bardzo szerokie, a w pionie niekorzystne zmiany obrazu stają się widoczne dość szybko.

Zamontowany procesor to przedstawiciel najnowocześniejszej obecnie rodziny procesorów Core i5, model 520M. Posiada on zegar o taktowaniu 2,40 GHz, który dzięki trybowi Turbo Boost w przypadku wykorzystania tylko jednego z dwóch rdzeni może podskoczyć do 2,93 GHz. Jest to więc jedna z najwydajniejszych jednostek dwurdzeniowych dostępnych obecnie na rynku. Z procesorem zintegrowany jest układ graficzny Intel HD, jednak w Dellu E6510 nie ma możliwości przełączenia funkcji wyświetlania obrazu z karty niezależnej (w celu zaoszczędzenia energii).

Układ graficzny to nVidia Quadro NVS 3100. Jest to ten sam układ, co w GeForce 310M czy 210M, jedynie o minimalnie wolniejszych zegarach. Jego wydajność w grach jest zatem podobna do nich, czyli dość niska. W końcu to najmniej wydajne niezależne karty graficzne z obecnie oferowanych. W połączeniu z ekranem o rozdzielczości FullHD nie ma mowy o graniu w jakiekolwiek wymagające tytuły w natywnej rozdzielczości matrycy. Karty graficzne z rodziny Quadro NVS nie są jednak przeznaczone do gier, a zoptymalizowane do wspieranie aplikacji profesjonalnych. Wszelako wątpię, aby układ o tak niskiej wydajności w zdecydowany sposób przyspieszył lub usprawnił działanie tego typu oprogramowania.

Wpływ na otoczenie

Hałas

Dell Latitude E6510 jest w miarę cichym notebookiem. W czasie spoczynku szum ledwo przekracza 35 dB, ale przeważnie wentylator działa na najwolniejszym biegu, który jest trochę cichszy. Pod obciążeniem także nie jest głośno, gdyż poziom 40 dB nie jest przekroczony, a to jak na laptopa z niezależną kartą graficzną dość rzadkie zjawisko.

Za kulturę pracy należy pochwalić szczególnie napęd DVD, który jest w trakcie pracy tylko trochę głośniejszy od układu chłodzenia. Gdy płyta jest rozpędzana, emitowany przezeń szum osiąga maksymalnie 41,6 dB. To wartość o kilka jednostek mniejsza, niż ta wytwarzana przez większość tego typu urządzeń.

Ciepło

Dell Latitude E6510 nie jest chłodnym modelem. W czasie spoczynku z wierzchu obudowa nie przekracza 35°C, ale spód rozgrzewał się na sporej powierzchni powyżej ciepłoty ludzkiego ciała. Trzeba dodać, że w tym czasie temperatura otoczenia wynosiła 24 stopnie. Wewnątrz procesor i grafika osiągały maksymalnie około 60 stopni, czyli ani dużo, ani mało.

Gorzej było pod obciążeniem, w temperaturze otoczenia 25 stopni (ale w końcu mamy lato i często jest jeszcze cieplej). Mianowicie obudowa na prawie na całej swej powierzchni przekraczała 36,6 stopni, osiągając maksymalnie od 43,1°C na wierzchu i 46,8°C od spodu.

Pod obciążeniem temperatura CPU dobiła do 83 stopni (to sporo), a GPU była trochę niższa (75°C, czyli nieźle jak na warunki przeprowadzania testu).

Trzymanie tego modelu notebooka na kolanach w tych warunkach byłoby więc niekomfortowe i uciążliwe niezależnie od tego, w jakim stopniu wykorzystane byłyby zasoby sprzętowe.

Głośniki

Głośniki umieszczone po obu stronach klawiatury grają czysto, bez charczenia także przy ustawieniu maksymalnego poziomu głośności. Trzeba jednak przyznać, że poziom ten nie jest zbyt wysoki. Jak na laptop biurowy powinien być wszakże jak najbardziej wystarczający.

Wydajność akumulatora

Testowany egzemplarz Latitude E6510 był wyposażony w 9-komorowy akumulator o pojemności 90 Wh. Wystaje on poza obrys obudowy z tyłu, a nie od spodu, więc nie podnosi laptopa do góry.

Uzyskiwane czasy pracy na jednym ładowaniu są zadowalające. Ponad 3,5 h podczas korzystania z Internetu przez sieć Wi-Fi czy prawie 2 h pod obciążeniem nie przynosi laptopowi Della ujmy. Do tego ponad 7 h na luzie to wynik, którego nie powstydziłyby się dużo bardziej mobilne konstrukcje.

E6510 może być także wyposażony w mniejszą, 6-komorową baterię o pojemności 60 Wh, która całkowicie mieści się w obudowie.

Podsumowanie

Dell Latitude E6510 to notebook o minimalistycznym, a przez to eleganckim wyglądzie. Jego obudowa z elementami wykonanymi ze stopów magnezu jest bardzo solidna. Wygodnie korzysta się z jego klawiatury i grzybka sterującego; trochę gorszy jest gładzik.

Testowany model został wyposażony w rzadko spotykaną matrycę o rozdzielczości 1920x1080 pikseli i przekątnej 15,6 cala.
