Test Acer Ferrari FO200

Ostatnio rzadko trafiają się laptopy ekstrawaganckie – w kryzysowych czasach nie ma na nie miejsca. Jedną z nielicznych konstrukcji dalekich od banału jest niewątpliwie Acer Ferrari FO200. Wyróżnia się on zarówno nietuzinkowym wyglądem, jak i podzespołami AMD. Także cena tego urządzenia nie jest zwyczajna, ale za prestiż (biorący się ze współpracy z włoską marką) najczęściej trzeba dopłacić.

Obudowa

Acer Ferrari FO200 ma bardzo smukłą i dynamiczną bryłę. Efekt ten podkreślają czerwone, zaokrąglone wstawki na tylnych krańcach boków. Do tego przy uruchomieniu wita nas odgłos przejeżdżającego bolidu Formuły 1, co z pewnością spodoba się wielu klientom płci męskiej.

Pokrywa ekranu jest polakierowana w intensywnym kolorze czerwonym, o odcieniu charakterystycznym dla samochodów włoskiej marki. Szkoda tylko, że zbiera ona odciski palców i po pewnym czasie użytkowania wygląda niezbyt estetycznie. Trzeba często przecierać ją ściereczką, aby nie traciła swojego niewątpliwego uroku. Na środku umieszczono logo „Scudetto Ferrari” otoczone ciemną ramką, a lewym górnym rogu - szary napis „Acer”. Niestety, pokrywa na środku jest niezbyt sztywna, zauważalnie ugina się pod naciskiem. Przez to matryca nie jest należycie chroniona, gdyż widać na niej zaburzenia obrazu w miejscu, w którym naciskamy pokrywę od zewnętrznej strony.

Czarna i błyszcząca ramka wokół matrycy także nie jest sztywna i ściskanie jej powoduje zmiany w wyświetlanym obrazie. Do tego nie umieszczono w niej diody obok kamery, przez co nie wiemy, kiedy kamera jest włączona a kiedy nie.

Z takiego samego materiału jak ramka wykonane są zawiasy. Pracują cicho, stawiają odpowiedni opór, a pokrywa po zmianie jej ustawienia jest nieruchoma i nie drga. Ponieważ przy otwieraniu zachodzi ona za tył notebooka, maksymalny kąt otwarcia to niecałe 145 stopni. Jest to kąt wystarczajmy nawet przy trzymaniu laptopa Acer Ferrari na kolanach. Zawiasy przytrzymują klapę złączoną z platformą roboczą; do otwarcia urządzenia należy użyć dwóch rąk, a po odwróceniu komputera pokrywa opada minimalnie.

Powierzchnia pulpitu roboczego jest matowa. To dobrze - nawet po intensywnym korzystaniu z laptopa pozostaje czysta i schludna. Za klawiaturą widoczna jest bateria; gdy wyciągniemy akumulator, w tym miejscu pozostanie jedynie wolna przestrzeń. Po lewej stronie umieszczono 3 białe diody, a po prawej - srebrny włącznik otoczony czerwoną ramką. Powierzchnia ta jest bardzo solidna i sztywna, odporna na jakiekolwiek naciski.

Podkładka pod nadgarstki ma fakturę drobnych kwadracików. Plastik ten imituje włókno węglowe. W dotyku materiał ten jest przyjemny i zachęca do oparcia na nim dłoni. Nie jest on szczególnie sztywny i poddaje się pod naciskiem, najbardziej z prawej strony. Na szczęście możemy bez problemu podnieść notebook, chwytając go za przednie rogi, i nie usłyszymy jakichkolwiek niepokojących dźwięków, ale jest to zasługą niewielkiej wagi a nie wytrzymałości tworzywa w górnej części jednostki zasadniczej.

Jest to także możliwe dzięki bardzo sztywnemu plastikowi spodu. Tu ciekawostka – na spodzie znajduje się kolejny akcent motoryzacyjny. Mianowicie 4 gumowe nóżki Acera są półokrągłe, mają bieżnik i przypominają opony samochodowe.

Rozmieszczenie złączy nie jest najszczęśliwsze, gdyż na prawą stronę powędrowały te najczęściej używane jak np. audio, 2 USB i gniazdo zasilania. Z lewej strony umieszczono trzeci port USB, szczeliny wentylacyjne, VGA i złącze XGP umożliwiające podpięcie zewnętrznej karty graficznej. Szkoda ze producent nie zdecydował się na umieszczenie cyfrowego wyjścia obrazu. Na tylnej ściance nie ma żadnych złączy. Z przodu również - tutaj znajdują się 4 diody, a pod nimi dwa przełączniki do modułów Wi-Fi i Bluetooth.

Osprzęt

Klawiatura Acera Ferrari FO200 posiada klasycznie rozmieszczone znaki, bez udziwnień wymagających przyzwyczajenia. Nie jest ona zbyt sztywna i mocniejsze jej naciskanie powoduje widoczne uginanie się okolicznych klawiszy. Zjawisko to jest szczególnie wyraźne w dolnej środkowej części, nad spacją.

Zaletą klawiatury są dość spore klawisze. Dzięki temu wcale nie odczuwa się tego, że pracuje się na niewielkim (11,6”) laptopie. Same klawisze to płaskie płytki, które mają miękki, niezbyt głęboki skok. Dźwięk, który wydają klawisze w czasie pisania, jest niezbyt cichy, ale akceptowalny. Białe oznaczenie głównej funkcji jest bardzo widoczne; dużo gorzej jest z ciemnoczerwonymi znakami dotyczącymi funkcji uruchamianych wraz z klawiszem „Fn”. Na czarnej powierzchni po prostu ciężko je dostrzec i trzeba się przypatrzyć, żeby znaleźć odpowiedni klawisz.

Tabliczka dotykowa jest bardzo nietypowego kształtu. Stanowi ją mianowicie nie prostokąt, a trapez równoramienny. Nie wpływa to jednak negatywnie na komfort korzystania z gładzika. Jego matowa, czarna powierzchnia ma bardzo dobre właściwości ślizgowe, dzięki czemu jego używanie jest bardzo przyjemne. Taka powierzchnia zapewnia precyzyjne i szybkie sterowanie kursorem, a do tego nie widać na niej śladów palców. Przyzwyczajenia wymaga obsługa przewijania dwoma palcami i inne możliwe do zastosowania gesty, ale po pewnym czasie korzystanie z nich staje się odruchowe.

Gorsze właściwości użytkowe ma pojedyncza srebrna belka, zastępująca przyciski. Na jej błyszczącej powierzchni pozostają widoczne odciski palców. Jeśli naciśniemy ją na środku, w miejscu napisu Ferrari ONE, klik jest zdecydowanie zbyt głośny. Radzę więc korzystać z krańców, gdzie odgłos jest dużo cichszy i przyjemniejszy dla ucha.

Acer Ferrari FO200 posiada ekran o przekątnej 11,6” i rozdzielczości 1366x768 pikseli. Dzięki powierzchni roboczej takiej samej jak na większych matrycach na takim ekranie pracuje się dużo wygodniej niż na netbookowych matrycach o przekątnych mniejszych o 1,5” i rozdzielczości 1024x600. Szkoda tylko, że w tym lekkim i mobilnym modelu zastosowana matrycę z błyszczącą powłoką. Refleksy i odbicia bardzo utrudniają a czasem wręcz uniemożliwiają korzystanie z laptopa na wolnym powietrzu lub w silnie oświetlonych pomieszczeniach. Nie pomoże nawet dość wysoka jasność obrazu uzyskana dzięki zastosowaniu podświetlenia diodami LED.

Boczne kąty widzenia są szerokie, za to w pionie bardzo szybko następuje rozjaśnienie lub zaciemnienie obrazu i aby cieszyć się intensywnymi kolorami, należy optymalnie ustawiać pokrywę. Z drugiej strony w mobilnym sprzęcie może to uchronić użytkownika od poznania wyświetlanego obrazu przez osoby trzecie.

Osiągi

Procesor AMD Athlon X2 L310, który znalazł się na wyposażeniu Acera Ferrari FO200, posiada dwa rdzenie o taktowaniu 1,2 GHZ, 1 MB pamięci podręcznej i TDP=13 W. Dość wysoka jak na procesor energooszczędny ostatnia wartość jest najpewniej spowodowana dość przestarzałym już procesem technologicznym 65 nm. Procesor ten jest wydajniejszy od wszystkich jednordzeniowych Atomów Intela, a także (choć minimalnie) od dwurdzeniowego Atoma 330. Dzięki niemu korzystanie z Internetu i wielu aplikacji jest zauważalnie szybsze i bardziej komfortowe niż w netbookach. Ze względu jednak na cenę Acera FO200 jak i pobór energii L310 powinien on być porównywany z niskonapięciowymi procesorami Intela... a tutaj przepada z kretesem. Najbardziej zbliżony do L310 procesor Intela, Celeron SU2300 (2 rdzenie, 1,2 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache, TDP=10W) jest zauważalnie wydajniejszy i do tego pobiera mniej energii.

Karta grafiki to zintegrowany układ ATI Radeon 3200. Choć AMD ma już nowszą kartę zintegrowaną ATI 4200, to różnice miedzy nimi są jedynie kosmetyczne, a wydajność prawie identyczna. Zaletą tej karty jest wspomaganie odtwarzania filmów HD, dzięki czemu Acer Ferrari radzi sobie z nimi doskonale. Jedynie o netbookach z ION-em można napisać to samo. ATI 3200 w połączeniu z mało wydajnym procesorem nie nadaje się do grania w rynkowe nowości, choć starszym tytułom da radę. Jednak przyjemność z grania na niewielkim ekranie i tak nie jest zbyt wielka.

Ciepło

Pod obciążeniem obudowa Acera Ferrari FO200 jest gorąca. Na spodzie prawie na całej powierzchni osiąga temperaturę powyżej 36 stopni Celsjusza, więc trzymanie laptopa na kolanach jest uciążliwe. Niewiele chłodniej jest od górnej strony. Jest to konsekwencja zamknięcia procesora o dość sporym TDP w małej i smukłej obudowie. Sam CPU nie osiąga na szczęście zbyt wysokiej temperatury – maksimum w przeprowadzonych testach wyniosło 72°C.

Podczas wykonywania lżejszych zadań temperatura Ferrari FO200 z wierzchu jest prawie taka sama na całej powierzchni - wynosi trochę ponad 30°C. Od spodu jest trochę cieplej, ale raczej bez problemu możemy korzystać z laptopa, trzymając go na kolanach. Przy takim użytkowaniu temperatura jest niższa o około 20 stopni od maksymalnej osiągniętej przez niego w czasie testów obciążeniowych.

Zamontowane z przodu obudowy głośniki stereo grają czysto, choć z powodu miejsca ich zamontowania dźwięk dobiega do słuchacza delikatnie przytłumiony. W stosunku do montowanych w innych tej wielkości komputerach wybijają się delikatnie na plus dzięki trochę wyższej głośności maksymalnej i graniu nie tylko  wysokich tonów. Jednak i tak nie jest to jakość wystarczająca do słuchania muzyki na zadowalającym poziomie i lepiej do tego celu korzystać ze słuchawek.

Wydajność akumulatora

Akumulator Acera FO200 posiada 6 komór i pojemność 48 Wh. Czasy pracy są więc niestety niezbyt długie, gdyż niecałe 3 h przy korzystaniu z Internetu przez WI-Fi to niezbyt imponująca wartość dla modelu tej wielkości. W porównaniu z netbokami na najnowszej platformie Pine Trail i wieloma laptopami klasy CULV są wręcz mizerne.

Na pojemniejszej (63 Wh) baterii uzyskiwane czasy są o około 30% dłuższe, więc osoby planujące w większym stopniu polegać na wewnętrznym zasilaniu mogą takiej poszukać.

Jego zaletami są ekran o wysokiej rozdzielczości (choć niestety z błyszczącą powłoką) i niezła, dość duża klawiatura, a jedną z wad jest nadmierne nagrzewanie się obudowy.

Wydajność i długość pracy na baterii Ferrari ONE są ewidentnie słabsze niż porównywalnych cenowo modeli opartych o platformę CULV Intela. Producent jednak nazywa go netbookiem o dużej mocy, co w takim kontekście byłoby zgodne z prawdą. Wtedy usprawiedliwieniem dla wysokiej ceny byłoby firmowanie tego modelu przez włoską markę.
